The event is part of the Go Japan initiative, a collaboration between FPT Software and leading universities such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Phenikaa University, University of Technology - Hanoi National University, and FPT University. This program offers students the chance to experience an advanced educational and work environment in Japan. With scholarships covering up to 100% of tuition and support for living and travel expenses, students can participate in a 1.5-month training program in Japan. This includes improving their Japanese language skills and interning under the guidance of top IT experts at FPT Japan, FPT Software's branch in Japan.

The scholarship is intended for students majoring in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications, Automation, and Mechatronics, who are expected to graduate in 2024 or 2025. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional academic performance, proficiency in Japanese, and high results in academic competitions and scientific research. The selection process includes four rounds: evaluation of application profiles, assessment of Japanese language skills, professional skills assessment, and a direct interview with experts from FPT Software.

Mr. Do Van Khac, Deputy CEO of FPT Software and CEO of FPT Japan, discussed the potential of Japan's labor market, stating, "Japan is a key market for FPT Software. We aim to rank among Japan's Top 10 IT companies and reach a revenue goal of 1 billion USD by 2027. To achieve this, we need a substantial number of young IT talents in Japan, with plans to recruit 1,200 new employees in 2024. We are committed to partnering with universities to develop IT professionals proficient in Japanese, as this is crucial for those aspiring to build successful careers in the Japanese market."

Nguyen Ba Trung Hieu, a HUST student and one of the top candidates winning the Type A scholarship, said: "FPT Software's 'Go Japan' scholarship is like a gateway that opens opportunities for me to experience new cultures, gain new knowledge, and get closer to my career goals. This achievement has been a tremendous source of motivation, inspiring me to continuously strive in my learning and development journey to become an international programmer."

At the scholarship awarding ceremony, FPT Software also signed a strategic cooperation memorandum between FPT Japan Academy and partner universities, including HUST and Phenikaa University. This agreement marks a milestone in enhancing human resource development for the Japanese market and contributes to the overall growth of Vietnam's IT industry.

According to IPA data, Japan's demand for software services is estimated at over 30 billion USD per year, yet Vietnamese businesses currently hold only 6-7% of the market share. To capitalize on the significant opportunities in the Japanese market, FPT Software plans to invest heavily in cutting-edge technology and develop highly specialized human resources with expertise in the Japanese language and culture. The "Go Japan" program, set to launch in March 2024, is a critical initiative in this strategy. The "Go Japan" scholarship program reflects FPT Software's commitment to training and nurturing young talent in technology, addressing Japan's IT workforce shortage while offering Vietnamese IT professionals valuable learning, working, and living opportunities in Japan.

FPT Japan is one of Japan's largest Vietnamese IT enterprises, with 3,500 employees across 18 offices and development centers in the country, supported by a global team of nearly 15,000 employees. The company delivers projects for Japanese clients, offering a wide range of services and solutions to over 450 customers worldwide. These include strategic consulting and advanced technology solutions in AI, machine learning, and cloud computing. Over the past two decades, FPT Japan has been a trailblazer in enhancing bilateral relations and has received numerous accolades from the Great Place to Work organization, including "Best Place to Work in Asia," "Top 100 Best Places to Work in Japan," and "Top 5 Best Places to Work for Japanese Women in 2022."
