FPT officially launched the technology contest the “Digital Race 2017 – 2018” with the theme of self-driving cars on October 26. The contest is open to all university students nationwide with the total award amount of up to VND 4 billion. The winning team will receive a total prize of VND450 million, including a one-week trip to Japan to experience and learn about new technology, and will be directly recruited by FPT Software.

This year’s contest is tougher than last year’s, when contestants must programme their cars to run in simulated outdoor light, read traffic signs and make right and left turns.

The kick-off ceremony of Digital Race 2017-2018

"The first season of the Digital Race last year attracted more than 500 students. The race proved students’ interest and aptitude, boosting the passion for learning, updating and practicing new technologies in the world for Vietnamese students. This year, FPT will create conditions for candidates to approach more practical situations. All applicants will have the opportunity to explore and experience the autonomous technology developed and provided for global automakers by FPT. Moreover, the excellent contestants will be given a chance to participate in training courses and automation projects of FPT. We expect Vietnamese students will take advantage of this opportunity, be prepared with the necessary basics and take the initiatives in Industry 4.0 in Vietnam," said FPT CEO Bui Quang Ngoc.
