FPT partners with HCMC to launch app to support bus riders

On July 10^th, HCMC Department of Transport partnered with FPT IS to officially announce an application named Go!Bus which connects a bus route with Grab service to help commuters take a bus quickly by using a smartphone.

Under the motto of “bringing the bus station close to you", the app aimed at giving users the best experience, fastest service and most accurate information. The app is available on Android and iOS.

The app was produced with the desire that people will enjoy convenience, good service quality, civilization and the most convenient payment methods when getting on the bus," said the Deputy Director of the Transport Department Vo Khanh Hung.

The app provides quick information on bus arrival time prediction, bus routes, allowing users to search for information on the city’s bus network. Customers can submit comments or report problems directly on chat screen.

Go!Bus is also linked with Grab, a ridesharing app, allowing you to choose the mode of transport that will be the faster way to get you to your destination in case you’re in a hurry. For example, when a traveller looks for directions between Destination A and Destination B, Go!Bus will show a detailed bus itinerary as well as information about the same ride provided by GrabCar and GrabBike for the sake of comparison.

If the distance between the traveller’s location and the bus pick-up point is longer than 200 meters, Go!Bus app will automatically provide information about Grab rides for the same itinerary for travelers to weigh their options.

"We hope that with the technology platform by FPT IS, Go! Bus will help the transportation system in HCMC develop more. Travelling by will becomes more convenient", stated Mr. Tran Trung Thanh, Director of FPT IS HCM

FPT IS has many years of cooperation in developing smart transport for Ho Chi Minh City. In 2019, the HCMC Department of Transport cooperated with FPT Information System to formally introduce the application ‘MyTrans – Let’s bus’. ‘MyTrans’ allows users to offline look up several kinds of information related to buses in HCMC, including schedules, predicted terminal approaching time, route finding, terminal locations. They can also register and record their bus trips.
