FPT Retail launches e-commerce project

Nguyen Thanh Tung, E-Commerce Project Director of FPT Retail explained the main reasons for the company’s establishing the e-Commerce unit are for business expansion and that the online trading environment is growing steadily. The new look of the website is one part of the plan.

According to CEO of FPT Retail, Pham Thanh Duc, the newly looked website is integrated with retailing system to every shop within the system, thus improving service quality.

Customers can also benefit from cheaper price when purchasing online than buying the products directly in retail shops as the e-commerce format can save a number of costs relating to house renting and showroom sales force.

Furthermore, customers in other areas where FPT Shop has not been present can choose to purchase online through Senpay system (provided by FPT Online) or Cash on Delivery (COD) mode or bank transfer via domestic ATMs or visa credit card. Delivery time ranges from 24 to 48 hours to three or seven days depending on the distance.

The new version of FPT Retail website expects to be launched on January 3 after four months of preparation.

By pushing online sales, FPT Retail expect the newly launched website to make a contribution of 5% to the total revenue and would become an effective marketing channel of the company.

As of December 2012, FPT Retail possesses fifty retail shops in 23 provinces and cities across the country. The company is also the authorized distributor of Apple in Vietnam.
