FPT signs deal with two Slovak IT firms

With the presence of Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico and Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc, FPT inked a cooperative agreement on global business development with Slovakian Gratex International (GTI) in Hanoi on July 18. The agreement was signed within the framework of the discussion between Prime Minister Robert Fico and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Office of the President.
Under the agreement, FPT and GTI will develop business cooperation on a global scale, primarily in Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa. The two sides will cooperate in the field of technological research and development, as well as IT human resource development. Both sides expected the cooperation agreement will further promote their global business which can bring about million-euro projects in the coming times.
GTI is one of the leading companies in the field of IT in Slovakia with branches in Australia and Korea. The company’s main expertise is on financial services, insurance, banking; telecommunication; public administration and medical services.
FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh and the leader of GTI signed the MOU.
On the same day, FPT also signed a cooperative agreement with the IISAS – Institute of Informatics Slovak Academy of Sciences. FPT and IISAS research cooperation will develop, implement, and improve IT services and products in term of big data, cloud computing, and information security. FPT will also use the research results and knowledge from IISAS to improve IT products and services for customers. FPT will also assist IISAS in projects in Vietnam as well as on a global scale. This agreement is valid for 3 years from the date of signing.
IISAS was founded in 1999 and is highly experienced in research projects in the areas of microelectronics.
Slovakia is one of the key IT service providers for FPT’s European and global markets. In 2014, FPT started its business in Slovakia with the acquisition of RWE IT Slovakia, which provides internal IT services for RWE and renamed the company FPT Slovakia. This helps FPT not only enhance its consultancy expertise on SAP as well as “Smart Home” solutions but also expand the scale of customers in the European markets in particular and the world in general.
FPT Slovakia providing IT services IT Services for businesses in Germany, Slovakia and Europe is considered as one of the key dynamics for FPT’s strong growth in this market. At present, FPT Slovakia has 360 employees working in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany and Vietnam.
In the globalization strategy, FPT aims to reach USD 1 billion in revenue from overseas markets by 2020. Besides Japan, the US, the European markets are expected to become one of the main driving forces that help FPT reach this goal.
In the first 5 months of 2016, revenue of FPT globalization achieved positive results with 2,195 billion in revenues, up 36% and 313 billion profit before tax (PBT), an increase of 45% over the same period last year .
After the first five months, , FPT earned nearly VND2,195 billion in revenue, an increase of 36% and VND 313 billion profit before tax (PBT), an increase of 45% from foreign markets. The European markets saw growth of 11%, reaching VND 251 billion, accounting for 11.4% of the total revenue from overseas markets.
