FPT Software AI Center Aims for Top Global AI Lab

FPT Software's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center aspires to join the ranks of the world's leading AI research hubs, leveraging its robust technology platform and talented workforce.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phong, Director of AI Center at FPT Software, a subsidiary of FPT Corporation, highlighted that after four years of establishment, the Center has amassed a team of top-tier experts and forged a vast global partner network.

"Our goal for 2024 is to ascend to the ranks of the world's premier AI laboratories while concurrently driving revenue growth," Mr. Phong stated.

To realize this objective, FPT Software AI Center will collaborate with businesses and organizations specializing in AI to advance research and deliver practical solutions to clients. In 2020, the Center was pivotal in facilitating FPT's distinction as the inaugural Southeast Asian firm to forge a strategic alliance with the Mila AI Research Institute. Additionally, it secured a position as one of the top 10 shareholders of Landing AI, a prominent player in computer vision technology.

In collaboration with the Mila Research Institute, FPT Software AI Center is presently executing the FPT Software AI Residency program, designed to cultivate talent for Vietnam's AI sector. Through 2023, the initiative has yielded 63 scholarly publications, with 43 of these works accepted and featured in prestigious conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ACL, and EMNLP. Notably, several program graduates have secured doctoral and master's scholarships at esteemed institutions, including Stanford University, the University of Pennsylvania, EPFL, UCLA, and the National University of Singapore.

Collaborating with Landing AI, FPT Software is actively implementing computer vision solutions across various sectors, including industry and healthcare. Additionally, FPT Software is focused on nurturing technology engineering talent and providing training programs for students from K-1 to K-12, guided by insights from Dr. Andrew NG.

In 2023, FPT Software joined the AI alliance initiated by IBM and Meta, along with 50 large companies and organizations worldwide, including Dell, Hugging Face, Intel, and Oracle. The goal is to foster AI innovation, supporting and creating open-source code for AI software, models, and tools. This alliance showcases FPT Software's capacity to deliver advanced AI solutions to international clients while contributing to the global development of AI technology.

Furthermore, FPT Software AI Center will concentrate on developing highly practical AI products. In 2023, the Center introduced Coding Assistant, a comprehensive programmer support tool. This innovative tool leverages AI models to enhance programmer productivity by 40-60%.

Simultaneously, the company will enhance its Generative AI capabilities by expanding research and developing solutions tailored to specialized industries like finance, banking, and healthcare, thereby staying at the forefront of technology.
