Launch of "Da Nang Code League 2024" Programming Tournament Aligned with International Standards

From May 6 to June 2, the "Da Nang Code League 2024" programming tournament invites programming enthusiasts nationwide to register via the official portal, aiming to replicate the success of the 2023 season. Organized in collaboration with FPT Software, Da Nang University of Science and Technology, and the Central Region ICPC Council, the competition adheres to ICPC international programming examination standards, offering a total prize pool exceeding 200 million VND.

The "Da Nang Code League" competition serves as a platform for young technology enthusiasts aged 16-30, adhering to the standards of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) – a revered global programming competition often likened to the "Olympic Games" for IT students. ICPC, inaugurated in 1970, was founded by the UPE Computer Science Honor Society.

In 2024, the "Da Nang Code League" returns with an expanded scope, inviting participation from a diverse pool of candidates nationwide. This includes high school students, undergraduates, and technology professionals with less than five years of experience. Upon registration, contestants will be categorized into groups corresponding to their skill levels: Code Rookie, Code Warrior, and Code Master. However, the organizers encourage younger participants, such as high school students and undergraduates, to register for higher difficulty levels, fostering challenge and experiential learning. Each competing team will comprise three members, collaborating to tackle the challenges presented.

Following the registration phase, teams will engage in two rounds: firstly, the online Preliminary round on June 8, aimed at selecting 30 outstanding teams to advance to the live Final round in Da Nang on July 13.  During both rounds, teams will leverage one of four popular programming languages (C, C++, Java, and Python 3) to solve algorithms on the BKDN Online Judge platform (developed by Danang University of Science and Technology).

The panel of judges will consist of doctors, masters, and lecturers from Danang University of Science and Technology, alongside global technology experts from FPT Software, boasting over 10 years of experience. To ensure fairness, the Organizing Committee will implement an automated system to scan and detect exams containing identical or substantially similar code segments. Moreover, the exams will be automatically graded using an online grading system, assessing responses based on two criteria: correctness in general and specific test cases.

Notably, in the "Da Nang Code War 2019" competition, the University of Technology and Education (the University of Da Nang) saw participation from over 300 students. These competitions have provided a platform for thousands of programmers and students to showcase their skills in a professional setting, fostering community development in the region.

In 2023, the inaugural Da Nang Code League drew 1,200 participants. The final showdown featured 45 teams vying for victory, segmented into three categories: engineers, undergraduates, and high school students. Following the ICPC international programming competition standards, the examination questions and competitive ambiance were meticulously curated. The final round's challenges were crafted as interactive problems with real-world applications, progressively intensifying in complexity.
