Embarking on a drive to help promote homegrown music, FPT Software Philippines strikes a cooperation agreement with prime movers in the Cebu music scene.

The Cebu site collaborated with Cebu music giants Jude Gitamondoc and Cattski Espina to create a “home” for homegrown music in the form of an online music streaming application, called IslaTunes.

In the agreement, FPT Software Philippines will take care of developing the mobile, Web, and desktop application. The partners Jude and Cattski are in-charge of curating the content and ensuring that only the best homegrown music and videos go into the app for fans around the world to enjoy. They also provide creative inputs on the look-and-feel of the app.

IslaTunes is set to be available for download from the Play Store in early 2017.

Jude Gitamondoc represents Kadasig, a crowdfunding project aimed at producing more Bisaya songs in 2017. Cattski Espina co-owns 22 Tango Records, a non-traditional independent record label based in Cebu and with offices in the United States. Their works showcase Cebu’s most talented musicians and songwriters in the Philippines and worldwide.

One year after establishment, FPT Software Philippines has nearly 120 employees. In the next 3 years, FPT Software Philippines aims to triple revenue and double the number of staff and customers.
