Addressing the third annual traffic safety conference 2015 held by Vietnam's National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC) on November 26-27, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh announced results of applying information technology to ensure traffic order and safety in the period of 2015-2020, and suggested building a national traffic safety information system (SOLAR).
The conference was hosted by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. It was also attended by Le Dinh Tho, Deputy Minister of Transport; Khuat Viet Hung, deputy chairman of National Traffic Safety Committee and nearly 500 delegates.
Speaking at this event, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh confirmed that FPT would continue to associate with state agencies, especially National Traffic Safety Committee, in applying technology to reduce traffic accidents.
Due to the increasing rise of data resources as well as the number of traffic safety reports, FPT suggested building a national traffic safety information system (SOLAR). This system would receive reports and integrate all traffic data sources. FPT technology would apply Big Data to analyze data and determine main causes of accidents and make recommendations for strategies, policies and national traffic safety programs.
If this suggestion is adopted, FPT will build and deploy it in the first quarter of 2016. After 6 months of operation, FPT will evaluate its efficacy and offer extended service plans to departments and local authorities.
Khuat Viet Hung, deputy chairman of National Traffic Safety Committee highly appreciated Truong Gia Binh’s proposal and believed that pioneer enterprises like FPT will trigger many positive changes in traffic safety in the future.
Earlier, at the traffic safety conference 2014, FPT proposed building a pilot system to handle traffic violations by photo. With the pioneering spirit, after one year, FPT has already installed cameras to tackle traffic violations on Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway, the Noi Bai – Phu Tho section.
