In 2024, FPT has enrolled approximately 1,500 students in semiconductor programs across university, college, and international certification levels, laying a critical foundation for future workforce development.
By 2024, FPT has around 200 design engineers collaborating with approximately 30 clients across Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam. In the education sector, FPT has successfully enrolled 1,500 students in its programs. Additionally, FPT has partnered with Nvidia to receive the first batch of products and established the first AI Factories in Vietnam and Japan.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged the current favorable timing and urged ministries and sectors to expedite the implementation of the "Human Resources Development Program for the Semiconductor Industry until 2030, with a vision towards 2050" and the "Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy until 2030." Previously, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 791/QD-TTg to establish the National Steering Committee for the Development of the Semiconductor Industry.
To realize the dream of a thriving semiconductor industry in Vietnam, FPT proposed that the Steering Committee devise a strategy to position Vietnam as the leading nation in the semiconductor workforce regionally and globally. The proposal envisions Vietnam becoming ASEAN's leader in newly established chip-design companies, including startups and foreign R&D centers, while spearheading the region's chip-testing technology.
“Vietnam maintains strong relationships with major global powers, and it is essential to nurture these ties to forge joint ventures with prominent global enterprises in the semiconductor field. To foster development in education, it is crucial to establish partnerships with governments, particularly in Japan,” said Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh, representing FPT.
