Global technology and business community 'flocks' to international tech event in Vietnam

FPT Techday 2024, Vietnam's largest annual international technology forum organized by FPT Corporation, took place on November 13-14 at Thiskyhall Exhibition and Event Center in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City. Under the theme "Future Now – The Future is Here," the event brought together 2,500 leaders from ministries, businesses, and renowned experts to explore cutting-edge technology trends and real-time solutions. These innovations have driven business operations and management breakthroughs while transforming people's lives with unprecedented experiences in work, education, healthcare, and beyond.

FPT Techday 2024 showcased cutting-edge, trendsetting technologies of the future, bringing them into the present to deliver breakthroughs in work efficiency and enhance daily life with unique and engaging experiences in convenient personalized living, education, and healthcare.

The event drew nearly 10,000 registrants and participants, including representatives from 500 leading global enterprises, reinforcing Vietnam's brand and position on the global tech map.

At the opening session on the afternoon of November 13, dedicated to the tech community and younger audiences, Mr. Vu Anh Tu, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at FPT, remarked, “Technology has become a fundamental part of our daily lives, offering immense value to society. At FPT, we are committed to leveraging the transformative potential of AI, big data, and IoT to improve and elevate the lives of digital citizens in this rapidly evolving era.”

Mr. Tu also shared insights into how FPT develops its code and harnesses the power of AI, big data, and IoT to enhance and enrich the lives of digital citizens in the modern era. "For more than three decades, since FPT began its journey in technology, every line of code written by our experts has been crafted in the language of our customers, grounded in data and a deep understanding of our partner's needs," he explained.

Mr. Tu expressed his hope that the exhibition area and guest presentations at FPT Techday 2024 would provide the technology community and young people with a unique opportunity to explore, experience, and immerse themselves in the latest technologies and most advanced products. He also encouraged attendees to discover new opportunities emerging from the cutting-edge advancements showcased at the event.

The afternoon session on November 13 also featured a panel of prominent leaders, including Ms. Nguyen Do Quyen, Deputy CEO & COO of FPT Retail; Mr. Bui Dinh Giap, Director of Operations for New Products and Services Business at FPT IS; Mr. Le Trung, Director of FPT Telecom Infrastructure Development and Management Center; Mr. Hoang Nam Tien, Vice Chairman of the FPT University Council; Mr. Vu Chi Thanh, Principal of FPT College; and Mr. Hoang Quoc Quyen, Executive Director of Hope School. The panelists shared their perspectives on various topics, including how people are cared for, how they express love, how to become xHuman, ways to balance and foster creativity, and approaches to building smart infrastructure for the new era.

Speaking on the topic "Digital Health: The Future of Care and Treatment," Ms. Nguyen Do Quyen, Deputy CEO & COO of FPT Retail, highlighted that Long Chau is proud to serve 26 million customers across Vietnam. She noted that if she had to choose three words to describe Long Chau, they would be "Devotion – Customers – Technology." For Long Chau, customer safety is paramount, technology is the key, and people remain the top priority.

On the topic "Becoming an xHuman in the New Era", Mr. Hoang Nam Tien, Vice Chairman of the FPT University Council, emphasized that AI doesn't take jobs only those proficient in AI will take jobs. He pointed out that AI transforms education, urging Generation Z to prepare by becoming fearless of AI, mastering its potential, and turning it into a "servant" or "assistant." He advised Gen Z to continuously evolve by cultivating creative thinking, data-driven approaches, systems thinking, self-learning, lifelong learning, and a deep understanding of emerging technologies like AI and Big Data.
The topic “Training Human Resources in the Technology Era: Balance and Creativity” was presented in a unique format by Mr. Vu Chi Thanh, Principal of FPT College, and Mr. Hoang Quoc Quyen, Executive Director of Hope School, through a live dialogue on stage, offering fresh perspectives on the challenges and opportunities of nurturing talent in the digital age.

Feast your eyes on future technology

The 5,000 m² exhibition at FPT Techday 2024 featured 25 booths across six key areas: AI, Semiconductors, Automotive Technology, Digital Transformation, Green Transformation, and Digital Citizenship. This showcase delivered a "feast" of multi-sensory experiences, bringing future technologies to life for over 10,000 attendees.

Visitors were immersed in personalized experiences, feeling cared for and understood, with access to diverse technological solutions tailored to individual needs. The exhibition also opened up new opportunities for growth and innovation through cutting-edge solutions that seemed straight out of the future.

Each experience vividly illustrated a comprehensive vision where technology seamlessly integrates into every aspect of life work, education, entertainment, and healthcare ushering in a new era of progress, sophistication, and modernity.

At the AI exhibition area, FPT showcased its position as a leader in artificial intelligence, highlighting its end-to-end capabilities from robust computing infrastructure to platforms for application development and specialized solution services across diverse industries. With a vision for the future of AI, FPT is introducing “digital assistants” to every citizen and profession, seamlessly supporting tasks and jobs to enhance comfort and overall well-being. By doing so, FPT aims to empower people to live better lives while delivering exceptional productivity to hundreds of major enterprises and enriching the experiences of nearly 600 million global end-users annually.

For the first time, Vietnam’s tech community and the public had the opportunity to explore a simulated AI Factory environment and witness the NVIDIA H100 GPU supercomputer system in action. The AI Factory serves as the powerhouse for data processing, algorithm training, and the development of intelligent AI solutions, creating top-tier AI agents for application across various industries and domains.

Visitors also had the chance to experience firsthand how AI assistants enhance productivity and product quality through cutting-edge solutions and platforms. Highlights included XVista, an AI platform designed to optimize the software development process, and Intelligent Inspection (I2), an AI solution that automates quality control and improves product standards.

In the semiconductor technology area, FPT demonstrated the pervasive presence of semiconductor technology in all modern devices. Staying true to its "Make in Vietnam" strategy, FPT has built a core design team of Vietnamese engineers trained in semiconductor hubs like Japan and the US. With technological autonomy and exceptional flexibility, FPT can design customized power chips tailored to specific devices and customer needs, unlocking the full potential of these products. This initiative is part of FPT's broader mission to position Vietnam as a critical player in the global semiconductor industry and contribute to the country's participation in the semiconductor supply chain. The Corporation has already secured orders for 70 million chips through 2025 and aims to train 10,000 semiconductor professionals by 2030.

At the automotive technology zone, visitors experienced smart car technology powered by advanced AI driving assistance for the first time. This represents one of FPT's key focuses in the automotive technology sector, where it is developing more innovative, more user-friendly, safer, and more secure software solutions for global automakers. FPT is driving the evolution of future vehicles with its core competencies, including software, AI, semiconductor chips, IoT, testing/post-testing equipment, and AI Factory infrastructure, developed in collaboration with its partners.

In the Digital Transformation and Green Transformation area, cutting-edge solutions were showcased to help organizations and businesses unlock the full potential of data hailed as the energy source of the future while enhancing competitiveness and driving sustainable growth. Notable solutions included: Kyta Platform (A comprehensive solution for managing the entire electronic contracting process); HR DX (A digital ecosystem for human resources management);akaMES (A smart production scheduling solution); akaBot (An intelligent automation platform); TradeFlat (A digital finance ecosystem); ArchiveNex (An electronic archiving solution); iSOMA (Software for data digitalization and storage). The VertZero Greenhouse Gas Inventory solution was a standout offering, which enables businesses to swiftly participate in the global Net-Zero race. VertZero digitizes emission collection, calculation, reporting, and monitoring processes, ensuring compliance with GHG Protocol and international standards while integrating seamlessly with ESG reporting tools.

In the Digital Citizen Zone, visitors explored smart healthcare solutions, personalized learning platforms powered by virtual assistants, and safe, convenient shopping experiences all designed to enrich modern living through technology.

The era of eSports

FPT Techday 2024 offered deep insights and unique experiences in e-sports through two engaging panels: "Where is Vietnamese eSport on the World Map?" and "eSport Players - 'Seeds' for the Billion-Dollar Dream." The event also featured electrifying, strategic matches between two legendary teams, Team GAM and Team Flash.

During the discussions, Mr. Hoang Viet Anh, Chairman of FPT Telecom, emphasized that e-sports is an unstoppable trend. He shared FPT's vision of partnering to organize premier e-sports tournaments, providing a platform for Vietnamese players to shine.

Young tech enthusiasts had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the intense atmosphere of matches between Team Flash and GAM Esports, two iconic teams in the "gaming village."

Attendees also interacted with industry leaders, game experts, and university representatives to explore the future of e-sports and career opportunities within the field. Attendees will enjoy a panel discussion with GAM Esports Captain Levi, GAM Esports CEO TK Nguyen, and Team Flash Coach Stark, who will share their experiences and visions directly with fans.

Known for their “unconventional” tactics, exceptional teamwork, and electrifying playstyle, GAM Esports has solidified its status as Vietnam’s premier representative at prestigious tournaments like MSI and World Finals. The "yellow and black" team has repeatedly stunned fans with victories in both domestic and international arenas, including VCS A Summer 2015 and 2019, and the GPL Spring 2017, among others.

On the other side of the battlefield, Team Flash LOL has proven a formidable contender, claiming top honors at the VCS Spring 2020 and VCS Summer 2020 tournaments.

A unique twist in today's show match was that the players from Team Flash and GAM Esports didn't compete alongside their usual teammates. Instead, the competing lineups were determined by audience votes on social media and the FPT Play application.

With over 1,309 votes cast, the players were shuffled and split into two new teams, Team Future and Team Star, creating an exciting and unpredictable dynamic for the match. Team Future included Kiaya, Darktharr, Playcool, Puddin, Elio Team Star included Yoshino, Emo, Soaraaa, Levi, Easylove. The match lasted just over 20 minutes. Team Star surged ahead in the first five minutes, maintaining control for the next 10 minutes. However, a dramatic turnaround in the 15th minute saw Team Future seize victory, delivering an exciting conclusion to the highly anticipated showdown.
