FPT Announces Investment in Five Strategic Technologies: Quantum AI, Cybersecurity, UAVs, Data, and Railway Technology

Amid the global momentum of science and technology, digital transformation, and innovation as key drivers for breakthroughs toward a new development era, FPT Corporation has announced the establishment of its Strategic Technology Steering Committee, comprising five core units: the Quantum AI & Cyber Security Institute (QACI), FPT UAV, FPT Railway Mobility Technology (FMT), FPT Cyber Security, and DC5. This marks a strategic move by FPT aimed at mastering core technologies and developing high-quality human resources in service of national technological sovereignty.

Science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation are regarded by Vietnam as top-priority breakthroughs and the primary drivers for renewing its growth model—supporting the country’s goal of becoming a upper-middle-income developing nation by 2030 and a high-income developed country by 2045. The 11 national strategic technology groups underscore the indispensable role of technology across economic development, national defense, and security, reflecting Vietnam’s commitment to technological self-reliance.

The FPT Strategic Technology Steering Committee is chaired by Mr. Trương Gia Bình, Chairman of FPT Corporation, with Mr. Nguyễn Văn Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, serving as Standing Vice Chair. Committee members include executives from FPT’s Group Management Board. The Committee is responsible for leading and overseeing the implementation of FPT’s strategic technology directions across the entire Group.

Chairman Trương Gia Bình: FPT Invests in Quantum, Cybersecurity, and More for National Technological Sovereignty

Chairman Trương Gia Bình stated:

As a pioneer in emerging technology trends and a long-standing contributor to the development of core IT infrastructure across key economic sectors, FPT reaffirms its commitment to accompanying the nation in mastering critical technologies.

Quantum Technology & AI

In quantum technology and AI, FPT has established the Quantum AI & Cyber Security Research Institute (QACI), with Prof. Hồ Tú Bảo serving as Scientific Director and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngô Xuân Bách as Institute Director.

QACI focuses on research and solution development, doctoral and senior expert training, and international collaboration. It is among the first quantum research centers established by a Vietnamese enterprise to date. FPT plans to invest USD 100 million in QACI.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)

In the UAV sector—estimated to reach USD 10 billion by 2035—FPT has appointed Mr. Vũ Anh Tú, Chief Technology Officer of FPT Corporation, as Director of FPT UAV.

Recently, FPT has actively promoted the development of Vietnam’s Low-Altitude Economy by co-founding the Low-Altitude Economy Alliance with technology, finance, and aviation partners, chaired by FPT CEO Nguyễn Văn Khoa. FPT has also facilitated cooperation between the Japan UAS Industrial Development Association (JUIDA) and the Vietnam Network for Aviation, Space, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (AUVS VN).

Railway Technology

In railway technology, Mr. Phạm Minh Tuấn, Vice CEO of FPT Corporation, has been appointed to lead FPT Railway Mobility Technology.

Previously, FPT has achieved global recognition in automotive design and manufacturing, automotive software, semiconductors, IoT, and SCADA, as well as in supporting 24/7 operation of large-scale, safety-critical systems across industries such as aviation, energy, and oil & gas.

Data Technology

In data technology, FPT DC5, led by Mr. Phạm Duy Phúc as Director, aims to build a data platform that is “accurate – sufficient – clean – live”, delivering greater value for the nation and enhanced experiences for customers.

Cybersecurity

In cybersecurity, FPT Cyber Security, under the leadership of Mr. Phạm Tùng Dương, Chief Information Security Officer of FPT Software, will focus on research investment and the development of a comprehensive cybersecurity ecosystem—working toward a safe, self-reliant, and sustainable digital environment.
