FPT Seeks Young Talent for Vietnam’s Strategic Technologies

More than 200 outstanding candidates who passed the application screening round of FPT FutureTech Talents 2026 have entered the program’s first competency assessment phase in areas including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, and Quantum technologies. Organized by FPT, the program aims to identify and nurture young talents capable of pursuing strategic technologies critical to the nation’s future.

As technology increasingly becomes a key driver of economic growth and competitiveness, the demand for talented young professionals ready to tackle real-world challenges is becoming more urgent. For technology enterprises, identifying and developing talent is not only about meeting immediate workforce needs but also preparing for strategically important fields with long-term impact.

More than 200 outstanding candidates entered the first competency assessment round

FPT FutureTech Talents 2026 was designed with this objective in mind. The program targets students with logical thinking, analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn in highly specialized technology environments.

During the assessment round, candidates participated in multiple evaluation components, including IQ assessments, AI expertise tests, and practical programming examinations. These assessments were designed to evaluate foundational thinking, problem-solving approaches, and the ability to handle practical challenges. Such qualities are particularly important for the next generation of technology professionals, as fields such as AI, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and Quantum all require continuous learning and rapid adaptation.

Notably, the entire examination process was conducted on an assessment software platform developed by FPT. Applying technology to the testing process helps optimize candidate experience while ensuring consistency, transparency, and efficiency throughout the evaluation process.

According to the organizing committee, the first assessment round is only the beginning of the program’s journey to identify promising young technology talents. Candidates who advance will move on to in-depth interview sessions, scheduled to take place on the morning of May 22, 2026. This stage serves as a critical evaluation before the program officially begins in early June 2026.

Outstanding candidates who pass the assessment round will continue to participate in more advanced challenges

Among this year’s program tracks, Quantum stands out as a notable highlight. While AI, Cloud, and Cybersecurity already have clearly established talent markets, Quantum remains an emerging field in Vietnam that requires strong mathematical foundations, algorithmic thinking, research capabilities, and the ability to approach complex problems.

For technology students, Quantum remains a relatively new direction, with limited internship and employment opportunities currently available in enterprises. Therefore, FPT’s decision to include Quantum in FPT FutureTech Talents 2026 opens another pathway for young people passionate about this field to challenge themselves, learn, and gain closer access to practical research and applications.

The story of Nguyễn Tuấn Phong, a student from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology under Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, illustrates this opportunity. Phong shared that he began developing an interest in quantum computing toward the end of his second year at university and proactively sought to deepen his knowledge in the field. Upon learning that FPT FutureTech Talents 2026 included a Quantum track, he decided to travel from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi to participate in the professional assessment round.

"I think Quantum is still a very new field. In Ho Chi Minh City, I haven’t seen many companies offering internships in Quantum. When I saw that FPT, a major technology corporation, had an internship program related to this area, I wanted to seize the opportunity and test myself to see where I stand," Phong shared.

After completing the assessment, Phong said the specialized test gave him an opportunity to apply his existing knowledge while helping him gain deeper understanding of quantum algorithms through practical problems. If selected for the interview round, he hopes to better demonstrate his abilities while expanding connections with experts, mentors, and professionals working in Quantum technologies.

Sharing insights about the program, Associate Professor Dr. Ngô Xuân Bách, Director of the Quantum AI & Cyber Security Institute (QACI) and Director of AI Products at FPT Smart Cloud, FPT Corporation, said:

"FPT FutureTech Talents is designed as a journey to identify and develop young technology talents with exceptional potential. Candidates go through multiple evaluation stages—from application screening and technical assessments to in-depth interviews—to comprehensively evaluate their mindset, technology capabilities, and adaptability in real-world environments. Following this selection process, the most suitable and outstanding candidates will become official program interns."

Through collaboration with FPT technology business units, the program aims to create an environment where young talents can gain exposure to both research directions and real-world product development across strategic technology areas including AI, Cybersecurity, Cloud, and Quantum, thereby contributing to the development of Vietnam’s future technology workforce in the digital era.

Program interns will have opportunities to work directly with leading experts and engineers at FPT on real-world projects in AI, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and Quantum technologies. In addition to hands-on experience, participants will receive access to specialized training pathways, one-on-one mentoring, technology seminars, and research and product development opportunities, helping them gradually build professional foundations and long-term career directions.
