FPT has officially become MongoDB’s first Certified DBaaS (Database-as-a-Service) partner in the Vietnamese market, marking a significant milestone in the modernization of domestic enterprises’ data infrastructure in line with international standards trusted by leading global technology corporations.
As Vietnam’s digital economy continues to grow at one of the fastest rates in the region, data has evolved from a storage function into a core factor determining competitiveness. Businesses are now required to handle rapidly increasing volumes of online transactions, real-time personalization demands, and mounting pressure to deploy artificial intelligence in operations. These requirements are exposing the limitations of traditional database management systems in terms of scalability, speed of feature deployment, and maintenance costs. To remain competitive, development teams need a modern, flexible data platform capable of meeting the demands of the AI era.

Modern monitoring and operations center.
MongoDB is currently one of the most widely used data platforms globally, trusted by more than 65,200 customers to build and deploy modern and AI-driven applications. The platform enables enterprises to overcome the limitations of traditional databases, modernize workloads, and leverage AI at scale. Its document-based data model allows efficient handling of both structured and unstructured data, making it well-suited for microservices architectures and significantly shortening product development cycles. Instead of spending months restructuring legacy systems, engineering teams can deploy new intelligent features faster while maintaining scalability and performance for millions of users.
MongoDB’s decision to partner with FPT in Vietnam is seen by industry experts as a signal that the domestic market is entering a new stage of maturity in data technology. To achieve this partnership, FPT had to meet stringent standards in architecture capability, operational excellence, and a workforce of internationally certified engineers. This means Vietnamese enterprises can now access not only licensed software but also fully integrated solutions deployed and optimized within the local market.

Through this partnership, FPT will provide modern Database-as-a-Service offerings, including architecture consulting, system migration from legacy platforms, and optimized operations. This model helps businesses significantly reduce technical risks during digital transformation, particularly in sectors such as finance, retail, and digital services—industries that require high availability and real-time data processing.
According to Mr. Lê Hồng Việt, CEO of FPT Smart Cloud, becoming MongoDB’s first Certified DBaaS partner in Vietnam affirms the capability of a Vietnamese technology enterprise to master core data platforms. Instead of building complex infrastructure at high cost, businesses can now deploy modern database systems within days, while being fully prepared for real-time analytics and AI applications.
From a market perspective, the presence of a local implementation partner helps bridge the gap between global technology and domestic operational realities. FPT will directly provide architecture consulting, performance optimization, and continuous operations, reducing reliance on international expert resources.
“Vietnam is a strategic market with rapidly growing demand for data modernization and modern application development. Partnering with FPT will significantly support customers in accelerating their transition to large-scale digital and AI applications, leveraging a trusted local partner while ensuring compliance with critical in-country data storage requirements,” said Mr. Sachin Chawla, Vice President for India and ASEAN at MongoDB.
This partnership milestone not only reinforces FPT’s position as a regional technology hub but also opens opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to shift from experience-based operations to data-driven models, laying the foundation for large-scale digital and AI applications in the coming years.
