The speakers at the seminar were two psychologists: Ms. Tuyet Brown, an American practice psychologist, and Mr. Darryl Takizo Yagi, psychology professor, currently a consultant for University of Hyogo, Japan.

Psychology is always an important and essential issue of humans. Any of us once faced impasses and tiredness, worry in life and at work. The need for being listened, shared, directed is very legitimate and human, especially for young people like students – the age group regularly having psychological problems when facing first difficulties in life.

Through the over-2-hour exchange meeting, FPT’s officers had gathered more information about the work of a psychology consultant in general and a school psychology consultant in particular. They also realized the important role of basic knowledge about psychological therapies in this job.

Ending the seminar, the two speakers showed their willingness to support FPT University in deploying psychology consultancy services at this university. This was also one activity direction that FPT really wished to follow to support its students.

Nowadays, in addition to major subjects, FPT University has introduced soft skills into its current curriculum to help students increase their living skills and master their psychology. Students with psychological or physical problems can go to the Health Consultancy Office at the University to be consulted.

On the other hand, FPT University usually organizes extra-curricular activities such as: HIV workshop to provide students with answers and basic knowledge about sex; health and psychological consultancy; as well as many leisure activities to help them eliminate stress… to direct them towards a healthy physical and psychological life.
