FPT University reviews the second term
October 6th 2007 at the Cau Giay Cultural Commune House, the Review Meeting of FPT University’s second term was taken place with participations of the Rector - PhD. Lê Trường Tùng; PhD Nguyễn Kim Ánh – Head of Research and Development Division; Mr. Nguyễn Minh Đức – Representative of Toshiba Sponsor and parents, teachers, employees and students of the first course.

The second term of 2007 academic year of the first course marks great efforts of teachers and students. Students are active in performing their abilities, creativeness and collectiveness. Particularly, the English proficiency of students has been improved remarkably.
Second Term lasts 14 weeks (from May 7th to August 10th) with subjects: English, Math and Philosophy. The university also applies the Personal Development Program and Vovinam kongfu for physical education with aims to help students develop spiritually and physically. |
The second term remarks records of students in social activities such as volunteers campaign at SOS village, teaching informatics skills for disadvantaged children at school’s labs, join hands build the “Martyrs’ Information Bank”, support freshmen which highlighted enthusiasm of young people.
At the meeting, 18 excellent students got award valued at VND 1 million, respectively; a USD100 discount voucher to buy a Toshiba laptop and one 1GB USB. Particularly, student Dương Thanh Long class SE0110 was proud to receive the “Golden Frog” – the award for the most excellent student in study and social activities. Representative of Toshiba Sponsor – Mr. Nguyễn Minh Đức granted the Toshiba laptop worth USD1,000 for student Dương Thanh Long. Furthermore, contributions of individuals, collectives and clubs are also granted merits and awards.
Reviewing achievements recorded, teacher Nguyễn Kim Ánh said: “Although students tried much, the rate of redoers is high, number of students are passive in learning methods so quality of teaching is not so good. In the time to come, the university will promote the creativeness; facilitate conditions for students so they will be more confident and familiar with increasing demands of workloads at good quality.”
Concluding the review, Rector of the University – Mr. Lê Trường Tùng expressed hope that students’ records will get better quality. He went on: “Today, the university raises the campaign of rules and honest in study and spiritual and physical practices. This is preconditions for us to step ahead”./
