FPT University signs an agreement to train hi-tech human resources for Hitachi Software Engineering Co., Ltd. and Quang Trung Software Park

The signing ceremony took place at the National Conference on Hi-tech Human Resources Training Based on the Society’s Needs, which was organized on April 11 in Binh Dương, with the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan - Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Education and Training, Mr. Banh Tien Long – Deputy Minister of Education and Training, and Mr. Nguyen Van Lang, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology.

FPT University will provide human resources for software projects of Hitachi Software Engineering Co., Ltd. and supply human resources in software technology for the companies operating in Quang Trung Software Park.

For 2009, FPT University has had a plan to train over 1000 software engineers, increasing the number of regular students majoring in software technology at the university to 3000, in order to answer the needs for human resources basing on addresses, as well as to help speed up the realization of the objective of training 100 000 information technology engineers of Ministry of Education and Training.

In his speech at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan - Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Education and Training, emphasized that the training of hi-tech human resources to meet the demands of the society and enterprises needed to be deployed comprehensively, basing on the macro policy of the state, the changes in training methods of universities/colleges, the cooperation of businesses, and the active participation of students.

In April 2009, the programme of training human resources in information technology carried out by Ministry of Education and Training and Ministry of Information and Communication was started with the signing of agreements between universities/colleges and enterprises. So far 600 contracts signed between universities/colleges and enterprises have been implemented.

Mr. Banh Tien Long - Deputy Minister of Education and Training – said that the objective of the information technology sector from 2005 to 2010 was to train 100 000 engineers and B.Sc. in information technology.

However, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Lang also noted that during the past time, only 10% of the information technology graduates had been able to meet the demands of employers, so changes in the training methods and content were also an urgent need.

Among the introduced solutions, Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Education and Training, emphasized the encouragement to establish universities/colleges within enterprises to train human resources for themselves as well as to meet the demand of human resources for the equivalent fields.
