The partnership focuses on three key objectives.

First, the two organizations will jointly develop high-quality talent in strategic fields including semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital transformation, addressing both FPT’s workforce needs and VNU-HCM’s goal of enhancing educational quality.

Second, they will promote applied research and technology transfer by connecting real-world business challenges with university research capabilities to create commercially viable and practical technology products.

Third, the partnership aims to strengthen the value chain linking education, research, and production, contributing to a robust innovation ecosystem and accelerating the digital transformation journeys of both organizations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, emphasized that FPT is ready to welcome VNU-HCM faculty members to work alongside the company’s experts in researching and solving major national challenges through technology. FPT will also collaborate with the university to build a new talent development model centered on AI.

Following the signing, FPT expects both sides to establish a joint office to coordinate future activities and focus on measurable outcomes, including the number of talents identified and developed, technologies jointly mastered, products brought to market, and patents introduced globally.

“FPT will work closely with VNU-HCM to accelerate post-signing initiatives and deliver tangible results. Through deeper collaboration, we aim to open a new chapter and build sustainable competitiveness through innovation in education and research,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation.

To realize the partnership’s objectives, FPT and VNU-HCM agreed to implement a comprehensive action plan across multiple areas.

In education and talent development, the two organizations will jointly design undergraduate, postgraduate, and specialized training programs aligned with industry demands. FPT will provide opportunities for VNU-HCM students and faculty to participate in internships, research projects, and co-supervision of graduation theses at FPT offices and subsidiaries.

FPT will also provide annual scholarships, support the development of specialized learning materials and laboratories, and collaborate with the university on career orientation programs, employer branding initiatives, and employment opportunities for VNU-HCM students.

In science and technology research, the two sides will launch application-oriented research projects through commissioned or co-development models, prioritizing core and foundational technologies such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), semiconductor design, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, quantum technologies, and digital transformation solutions.

They will also encourage the formation of joint research groups comprising FPT experts and VNU-HCM scientists to address technical challenges within FPT’s ecosystem, develop co-branded technology products, and organize specialized scientific conferences.

Regarding research infrastructure and innovation ecosystems, FPT and VNU-HCM will explore establishing a VNUHCM–FPT Collaborative Laboratory (VNUHCM–FPT Lab) under a co-management model. The lab will focus on semiconductor design, testing, and AI applications in public administration and social welfare.

In addition, both parties will collaborate to leverage and further invest in existing infrastructure—including laboratories and data systems—to support research projects and real-world technology pilots within the VNU-HCM Urban Area.

The comprehensive partnership between one of Vietnam’s leading technology corporations and one of the country’s foremost education and research institutions is expected to create significant momentum, reinforcing both organizations’ leadership in mastering core technologies and contributing directly to Vietnam’s digital competitiveness.
