Recently, Genfarma, a new biotechnology pharmaceutical company in Vietnam, together with FPT, officially brought its SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud enterprise management system into operation after only two months of implementation. Given the project’s simultaneous requirement to meet strict standards related to compliance, data traceability, and validation documentation in the high-tech pharmaceutical industry, the implementation speed and successful go-live mark a significant milestone.
The project represents a strategic step in Genfarma’s journey toward building international-standard management capabilities, establishing a data-driven operating model, and laying the groundwork for future expansion in research and manufacturing.

Genfarma and FPT officially launched the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud enterprise management system after two months of implementation.
Implemented from March 16, 2026, the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud system, consulted and deployed by FPT, includes core modules covering finance and accounting, procurement, and supply chain management. The system enables Genfarma to standardize real-time operational processes while strengthening control and ensuring data integrity across procurement, warehousing, logistics, and financial operations.
This capability is especially important for pharmaceutical, vaccine, and biotech companies, where all data must ensure accuracy, consistency, and full traceability throughout the operational lifecycle.
A key highlight of the project was its ability to simultaneously meet multiple strict requirements in the high-tech pharmaceutical sector, including compliance with GMP-WHO, GSP, and GLP standards. The system also supports batch-level traceability and expiration-date management based on first-expiring-first-out principles. Additionally, it was designed to provide complete audit trails and end-to-end data traceability—critical criteria in internationally standardized pharmaceutical operating environments.
To ensure both timeline and quality, FPT worked closely with Genfarma in developing templates, documentation structures, and system validation packages according to pharmaceutical industry standards prior to operational assessment. These are among the key requirements to ensure system accuracy, consistency, traceability, and reliability. At the same time, project teams from both organizations collaborated extensively on training, hands-on system exercises, and process standardization to ensure stable operations from day one.

The project successfully met multiple stringent requirements of the high-tech pharmaceutical industry despite demanding workloads and timelines.
As Vietnam’s pharmaceutical market is projected to reach USD 14.6 billion by the end of 2026, biotech and high-tech pharmaceutical enterprises face increasing demands for management capability, data control, and compliance with international production and operational standards. These factors also form a critical foundation for improving competitiveness, expanding international collaboration, and integrating more deeply into the global pharmaceutical value chain.
Established during Vietnam’s push to develop its pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, Genfarma positions itself as a company focused on researching, developing, and manufacturing advanced biotech and pharmaceutical products. Located in the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, Genfarma is considered a “new breeze” in Vietnam’s pharmaceutical market, aiming to master advanced biotechnology, develop an integrated R&D–manufacturing–commercialization ecosystem, and contribute to strengthening national pharmaceutical self-sufficiency.
One of Genfarma’s most notable milestones is its pharmaceutical technology transfer partnership with Cuba, opening opportunities to access advanced biotechnology solutions, particularly in oncology treatments and biomedical products. Simultaneously investing in both technology capabilities and management platforms is viewed as an important step toward realizing the company’s long-term strategy in high-tech pharmaceuticals.

Mr. Bui Le Khoa, CEO of Genfarma, expects the system to provide a strong foundation for the company’s long-term development in the digital era.
Mr. Bui Le Khoa, CEO of Genfarma, shared: “The implementation of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud marks an important step in Genfarma’s strategy to establish a modern management platform aligned with international best practices. Although still in our early years of research and manufacturing, Genfarma has already had to manage a considerable volume of data and operational requirements typical of a high-tech pharmaceutical company. Therefore, successfully implementing and operating the system within just two months is a remarkable achievement made possible by the determination and close collaboration of both project teams. We expect the system to provide a strong foundation for improving operational capabilities and supporting Genfarma’s long-term growth.”

Mr. Dinh Tien Hoang, Senior Vice President and Deputy CEO of FPT IS Enterprise Division, FPT Corporation stated that FPT stands ready to continue accompanying Genfarma in its future growth journey.
From FPT’s side, Mr. Dinh Tien Hoang, Senior Vice President and Deputy CEO of the Enterprise Division at FPT IS, FPT Corporation stated: “The Genfarma project is among the fastest SAP Cloud implementations we have delivered, while still meeting highly specialized pharmaceutical requirements related to compliance, data control, and international-standard operations. The project’s success further validates FPT’s SAP ERP consulting and implementation capabilities, as well as our ability to support enterprises in digital transformation projects requiring both speed and quality. We believe the management platform built today will become an important springboard for Genfarma’s future growth, and FPT remains committed to supporting the company in operating, optimizing, and expanding the system in the years ahead.”
FPT takes pride in being a SAP Gold Partner, supporting enterprises in optimizing data-driven operations and building sustainable growth in the digital era.
