Genfarma partners with FPT to build a new digital management platform for its biopharmaceutical strategy

Genfarma Pharmaceutical JSC and FPT Corporation have officially launched a project to implement the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public enterprise management system, expected to be completed in just two months. Deploying a Cloud ERP platform from the early stage is expected to help Genfarma—a new biopharmaceutical company in Vietnam—quickly establish an international-standard management system and accelerate its strategy to develop high-tech biopharmaceutical products.

The enterprise management system implementation project for Genfarma has officially kicked off, with a planned go-live date of May 15.

According to the plan, the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public project at Genfarma will be implemented in five phases, covering core operational areas including finance and accounting, procurement management, supply chain, and warehouse management. The system will enable the company to operate in line with international governance standards on a cloud computing platform. In addition, it will be tightly integrated with other software within the overall architecture to create a unified, synchronized data platform, connecting business workflows and optimizing performance and operational efficiency.

The implementation of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud at Genfarma takes place amid the rapid growth of Vietnam’s pharmaceutical industry, with market size increasing from approximately USD 2.7 billion in 2015 to nearly USD 7 billion in 2025, and projected to reach USD 10 billion by 2026. However, most original branded drugs are still dominated by international pharmaceutical corporations, while many domestic companies primarily produce generic drugs. This trend is driving increased investment in biotechnology and the development of high-tech pharmaceutical products.

As one of the few pharmaceutical companies established with this strategic direction, Genfarma is focusing on research, development, and production of specialized biological products for treating diseases such as cancer, hematological disorders, and neurological conditions, while expanding international partnerships to acquire advanced technologies. In 2025, the company signed cooperation agreements and received technology transfers from Cuban research institutes and biotech firms, opening opportunities to access advanced biopharmaceutical technologies, particularly in oncology drugs and recombinant biological products.

To realize its ambitions in the biopharmaceutical sector—which requires stringent management standards and quality control—Genfarma recognizes that beyond R&D and manufacturing capabilities, it must build a modern management system that connects all operational activities, ensures transparency, and enhances efficiency. Therefore, the company decided to upgrade and digitize its enterprise management system with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public from the early stage of development.
