According to Mr. Vu Anh Tu, Chief Technology Officer of FPT Corporation, more than 300 executives from leading global enterprises in digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) will soon come to Da Nang to sign cooperation agreements with FPT.
Da Nang’s Potential to Become the “Capital” of AI
At the seminar “Artificial Intelligence – A New Driver for Da Nang’s Development” held on May 9, attended by nearly 400 delegates, Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, emphasized that AI is an inevitable trend that opens up new opportunities for cities like Da Nang to optimize management, boost socio-economic growth, and improve the quality of life for residents.
With its strategic geographical location, advanced telecommunications and IT infrastructure, attractive investment incentives and support policies, high-quality living environment, and the strong commitment of local authorities, Da Nang aims to become a national high-tech center focusing on semiconductors and AI.
“The city is actively promoting digital transformation and expanding AI applications in various sectors such as healthcare, education, tourism, logistics, public administration, and smart city development,” Mr. Minh stated.

Sharing the same perspective, Dr. Le Quang Dam, General Director of Marvell Vietnam Co., Ltd., noted that Da Nang is already one of the most livable cities in Vietnam, and in the near future, it should also become a center for AI and the semiconductor industry.
According to Dr. Dam, Da Nang possesses strong potential to lead in AI and semiconductors. The city’s government has demonstrated clear commitment and enthusiasm to attract investment, which was one of the key reasons why Marvell decided to invest in Vietnam in general and Da Nang in particular. In May 2024, Marvell opened its office in Da Nang.
He added that Da Nang’s infrastructure is highly developed even surpassing that of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in certain aspects. “Although there is still room for improvement, I am confident that Da Nang will fully meet the needs of enterprises in the AI and semiconductor sectors,” Dr. Dam emphasized.
Similarly, Mr. Vu Anh Tu, Chief Technology Officer of FPT Corporation, observed that Da Nang has significant advantages in terms of geography and IT human resources.
Of particular note, in August this year, FPT Corporation will invite more than 300 executives from leading global enterprises in the United States, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and other countries to Da Nang.
According to Mr. Tu, these are top global leaders driving digital and AI transformation at some of the world’s largest corporations. They will visit Da Nang to sign cooperation agreements with FPT. “Da Nang is emerging as a global technology hub,” Mr. Tu stated.

Attracting Global AI Giants and Enhancing Human Resources
However, Mr. Tu emphasized that for Da Nang to develop AI successfully, the city needs to focus on two key strategies.
First, it must attract investment from global technology giants into data centers and research and development hubs in Da Nang. “We must find ways to persuade world-leading technology corporations such as Microsoft and Google to establish their data centers in Vietnam. That will serve as a foundation for attracting more global enterprises,” Mr. Tu said.
The second priority, according to FPT’s CTO, is to achieve AI self-reliance. FPT is attracting a large pool of technology talent to work in Da Nang. Additionally, many employees from Quang Nam and neighboring provinces see Da Nang as an appealing destination for high-tech employment.
“We believe both strategies are essential to rapidly transform Da Nang into a global technology capital,” Mr. Tu added.

Meanwhile, Dr. Le Quang Dam, General Director of Marvell Vietnam, highlighted that AI and semiconductor human resources must not only increase in number but also improve in quality. “In 2025, Marvell aims to recruit engineers from Da Nang at a ratio of 1 in 5 (around 20%). Therefore, we must enhance the quality of local graduates. Marvell will collaborate with Da Nang’s universities and local authorities to improve engineering training programs,” Dr. Dam expressed.
From the local perspective, Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, stated that the city has already prepared available land, infrastructure, and human resources, while continuing to refine mechanisms and support policies to attract stronger domestic and international investments. These efforts aim to build a modern, dynamic, and sustainable technology ecosystem.
“The city government is committed to providing the most favorable conditions for organizations, businesses, and researchers to jointly develop a comprehensive and sustainable AI ecosystem,” Mr. Minh affirmed.
