Hanoi to have Digital Maps by 2017
FPT will implement a digital map of Hanoi that provides people and agencies with real-time traffic information and a list of traffic infrastructure facilities (such as bus stations and signage, etc.) for public transport.

FPT will implement a digital map of Hanoi that provides people and agencies with real-time traffic information and a list of traffic infrastructure facilities (such as bus stations and signage, etc.) for public transport. People are also able to provide feedback on the real-time traffic situation through chatbot, an automated interaction tool. This is one of the items mentioned regarding strategic cooperation agreement on the application of information technology and communications between FPT and the Hanoi People’s Committee. It was signed on June 25 within the framework of the “Hanoi 2017 – Investment and Development Cooperation” conference. Total of investment value of FPT is VND 2,200 billion.
FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh received the strategic cooperation agreement.
Accordingly, FPT will deploy intelligent transportation system for Hanoi City and propose the model of leasing IT services. The Corporation will be responsible for all aspects of the system investment, operation, and maintenance, etc. The total investment capital for the construction of the Smart Transport System in Hanoi is expected to be VND 1.7 trillion.
The Hanoi Transportation System is proposed by FPT to meet the ten main functions required by Announcement No.484 dated May 29, including traffic information system for transportation participants and State management agencies; business management system; road traffic infrastructure management system; traffic control system with traffic lights; monitoring camera system to detect and handle image-based violations; intelligent security systems; traffic management and monitoring systems; system to regulate and restrict transport in certain urban areas ; smart traffic management software system; and security and data security system.
In addition to transport, telecommunication and education are also mentioned in the agreement. In the field of telecommunication, FPT expects to invest VND500 billion to lay underground telecommunications cables and install underground technical infrastructure for common use.
In the field of education, FPT University will also cooperate with the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications and the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment to develop training programs, hold training courses to improve information technology knowledge among staff in Hanoi, and train human resources at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
