FPT's AI and Semiconductor Ecosystem Shines at Vietnam Innovation Day 2024

During Vietnam Innovation Day 2024, held on October 1-2, FPT showcased its ecosystems in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and semiconductors, two vital strategic technologies for the Corporation. At this event, the FPT.AI platform was recognized as one of the Top 3 Outstanding AI Solutions.
Chaired by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnam Innovation Day 2024 served as a technology and innovation forum featuring presentations and discussions from experts aimed at evaluating Vietnam's opportunities and challenges in the fields of AI, semiconductors, and high technology in general.
FPT.AI honored as AI platform for the Future of Digital Enterprises
Additionally, FPT.AI received the prestigious title of "AI Platform for the Future of Digital Enterprises," with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presenting the award. FPT.AI distinguished itself by outperforming over 750 solutions from 20 participating countries, earning high praise from the Expert Council for its impactful contributions to the business community through its homegrown AI application products.

FPT.AI is an advanced AI platform developed by FPT Smart Cloud, a subsidiary of FPT Corporation. FPT.AI serves as a technology partner for over 100 large enterprises across 15 countries, successfully executing thousands of projects in various sectors, including finance, insurance, banking, e-commerce, healthcare, transportation, and public administration, benefiting more than 200 million end users each year.
The FPT.AI platform encompasses five main solution groups: Superior Customer Care Solutions (Conversational AI) include FPT AI Chat, FPT AI Engage - the platform for building and managing automated conversations using natural language processing (NLP) technology, as well as FPT AI Enhance, which aims to enhance call center quality. The Operational Optimization Solutions feature FPT AI Read for extracting data from text and digitizing documents, along with FPT AI eKYC for electronic customer identification.

At the workshop on international cooperation for developing human resources in microchip design, Mr. Tran Dang Hoa, Chairman of FPT IS and FPT Semiconductor, delivered a presentation titled "Training and Developing Human Resources for AI and Semiconductors: Seizing Opportunities to Address Global Challenges." He noted that sectors like AI and semiconductors are expected to reach a trillion-dollar scale by 2030. Despite Vietnam lagging behind, the country possesses strategic advantages, including political stability, geographic positioning, supportive government policies, and foreign investment opportunities like the US Chips Act. Most importantly, Vietnam has a strong pool of young talent skilled in STEM, positioning it to emerge as a rising player in the semiconductor landscape alongside leaders such as Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.

Despite the potential for growth in the semiconductor industry, challenges remain in developing human resources, including a shortage of specialized engineers, inadequate training programs, and a lack of highly qualified lecturers. Mr. Hoa emphasized the need for a strategic approach to enhance semiconductor education, ensuring curricula align with industry demands. He advocated for proactive technology and language training, enabling young graduates to swiftly meet customer and international standards. FPT has taken steps to address these issues by establishing a Semiconductor faculty, offering both college-level and short-term programs, and partnering with 20 leading universities in the US, Korea, and Taiwan for student exchanges. Additionally, FPT is focused on setting up R&D centers in Quy Nhon and Da Nang to advance technology research. The ultimate goal is to create a robust market in Vietnam, leveraging its advantages, particularly high-quality, scalable human resources.

FPT aims to collaborate with other businesses to accelerate our progress and build a comprehensive technology ecosystem. I want to emphasize that AI and semiconductors will open doors for young Vietnamese talent. Together, we will design chips and innovate new products, positioning Vietnam as a leading player in this field," Mr. Hoa pledged.
Leading Innovation Ecosystem with AI & Semiconductors
At the event, FPT showcased its FPT CHIP INSIDE Ecosystem technology, which is the backbone for our daily electronic devices, including smartphones, computers, smart home appliances, and medical equipment. The "heart" of these devices is the PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit).
The chip is crucial for managing and optimizing energy, ensuring high performance while saving energy. In 2023, FPT secured orders for 70 million chips from countries like Taiwan, Korea, Australia, Singapore, and Japan. With FPT CHIP INSIDE, the company aims to integrate Vietnam into the global chip supply chain, positioning Vietnamese chips as the next "golden grain" for the country.

In addition to its Semiconductor ecosystem, FPT showcased an AI ecosystem designed for businesses at the booth. This ecosystem enables intelligent factory operations, personalizes training processes, optimizes business workflows, analyzes video data, and supports organizations in creating and finalizing sustainable development reports.
FPT introduced several innovative solutions, including the Intelligent Inspection-I2 solution, which applies comprehensive AI technologies to enhance factory operations. The FPT GenAI ecosystem features three essential products. FPT AI Mentor automates and personalizes the training process using AI, improving employee training quality and enhancing knowledge and skills.
FPT AI Knowledge Explore enables users to locate, retrieve, and utilize data effectively. FPT AI TOVA is a chatbot that offers intelligent and flexible interactions through natural language processing.

Additionally, FPT introduced CodeVista, a solution designed to simplify the coding process, accelerate development cycles, and save time for programmers. Sustain AI is another platform that assists businesses in creating and finalizing sustainable development reports while ensuring compliance with international regulations and standards.
The akaCam ecosystem specializes in video data analysis, transforming raw data into structured information to detect, identify, track, classify, and index behavioral objects in videos. fPT also showcased akaBot, a robotic process automation (RPA) solution that automates repetitive manual tasks, freeing up human resources and reducing processing time by 70%, ultimately saving up to 21.9 million working hours annually.
Vietnam Innovation Day 2024, organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the National Innovation Center (NIC), brought together hundreds of businesses. At the event, FPT had the opportunity to connect with organizations and stakeholders within the Vietnamese innovation ecosystem, aiming to enhance the quality of human resources and contribute to policy development for innovation. Looking ahead, FPT Corporation is committed to collaborating with the Ministry of Planning and NIC on high-tech development initiatives centered around its chip and AI strategies.
