On August 18, 2024, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province hosted the "Development Strategy for the Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductor, and Cybersecurity Industry" conference in collaboration with FPT Corporation. The event outlined development directions and strategies for these critical sectors, emphasizing the need for high-quality human resources and fostering collaboration among relevant entities. Additionally, the conference aimed to enhance awareness among leaders and the public about the significance of these advanced technology industries, thereby supporting the sustainable development of Binh Dinh province.

The conference was held in a hybrid format, featuring participation from provincial leaders, leading experts from FPT Corporation, and representatives from various agencies, organizations, and businesses both within and outside the province.

In his address at the event, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, highlighted that following the approval of the province's socio-economic development plan, Binh Dinh is committed to progressively opening doors to drive success in its socio-economic development. One of the initial priorities is AI, semiconductors, and cybersecurity while fostering human resources for technological advancement. This endeavor is challenging and demands significant determination. FPT is leading the way by pioneering this groundbreaking initiative for the province's socio-economic development. Mr. Binh and FPT have inspired and instilled confidence and resolve in the entire political system and the people of Binh Dinh province to pursue the advancement of AI, semiconductors, cybersecurity, and technology human resources.

The local leader also emphasized that technological development must begin at the grassroots level, with a focus on students as the core of human resources. While short-term policies can attract talent to Binh Dinh, the long-term vision for the next 5-10 years involves cultivating a skilled technological workforce within the province. This effort must start early, integrating new technological knowledge into the curriculum from kindergarten and elementary school onward.

During the conference, the Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, the Private Economic Research and Development Board (Board IV) of the Prime Minister's Administrative Procedure Reform Advisory Council, and FPT Corporation signed a cooperation agreement to build and develop the AI, semiconductor, and cybersecurity industries in Binh Dinh province for the 2025-2030 period.

Under this agreement, the three parties will collaborate to mobilize resources and effectively implement the project to develop Binh Dinh province's semiconductor, AI, and cybersecurity industries for 2025-2030. They will coordinate efforts to promote investment, human resource training, and advance research and development in these sectors. This initiative aims to support Binh Dinh in achieving its goal of becoming a leading hub for the semiconductor industry, AI, cybersecurity, and high-quality human resources.

Simultaneously, the province will ensure a supportive environment for FPT and its partners to advance production and business activities, research, technology transfer, and the development of high-quality human resources. Additionally, Binh Dinh will provide support services in the semiconductor, AI, and cybersecurity sectors, all within the bounds of current legal regulations.

As a pioneering technology corporation with extensive experience consulting and implementing digital transformation projects, FPT has been a key partner in advancing digital transformation across Binh Dinh's three primary sectors: digital economy, digital society, and digital government. In 2021, FPT signed a strategic agreement to plan Binh Dinh province for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, alongside a cooperation agreement to drive digital transformation in the province from 2021 to 2025. The goal is to establish Binh Dinh as a national leader in digital transformation. FPT has supported Binh Dinh in building the Intelligent Operations Center (IOC) on a unified technology platform, deploying an integrated data-sharing system, and implementing an AI-powered traffic management camera system to analyze vehicle violations. The Cor has also led large-scale digital transformation training initiatives and provided consulting on digital health, agriculture, and business solutions. As a result of these efforts, Binh Dinh has improved its digital transformation ranking, climbing five places to 29th out of 63 provinces and cities since 2021. FPT is proud to have contributed to this significant progress.

FPT has also played a vital role in transforming Binh Dinh into a hub for AI training and research, cultivating a pipeline of well-trained AI talent from students to university and postgraduate levels. FPT is currently training approximately 2,000 students in Binh Dinh. Since its establishment in 2021, FPT University's Binh Dinh branch has specialized in deep AI training. Notably, FPT's technology staff in Binh Dinh actively contribute as mentors to students and assist lecturers in refining the curriculum to align with real-world applications, effectively bringing AI into practical use. FPT University Quy Nhon has emerged as a prestigious and sought-after institution, attracting students nationwide.

FPT's AI Research and Application Center in Quy Nhon consistently secures multimillion-dollar AI projects with clients in the US and Japan. This influx of high-value projects not only generates numerous job opportunities for the local workforce but also attracts talent from neighboring provinces to Binh Dinh. FPT is actively fostering a steady stream of skilled professionals from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and other regions, encouraging them to build long-term careers in Binh Dinh.
