More than 500 experts discuss how to build Vietnam’s technology ecosystem

On May 18, more than 500 experts from the leading tech companies in the world and Vietnam such as Google, Microsoft, FPT, Dreamplex coworking Space, Dell Vietnam, VNG, VCCorp, startups namely Yolo, MoMo, MasOffer, ELSA and numerous technology communities in HCMC attended FPT Tech Day 2016.

Among the key foreign guests were Rajan Anandan, vice president and managing director of Google Southeast Asia and India, and Nitin Gajria, Country Manager - Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos at Google and Kirsten Gilbertson, public and private cloud sales lead with Microsoft in Asia-Pacific. Mr. Le Hong Vietnam, FPT Chief Technology Officer also shared about the 4th scientific and technological revolution and how Vietnamese firms including FPT were catching up this trend.

Besides the speakers’ experiences, the participants also discussed emerging topics such as how to build a strong technology ecosystem in Vietnam, how tech firms will help the community. These technology solutions such as Big Data in customer care, experience in handling security vulnerabilities, artificial intelligence applications, intelligent transportation, 3.0 e-commerce, and marketing platform in the digital era were presented at the event. 16 technology products and solutions in accordance with the latest trends such as Smart Transportation, Smart House, CyRadar Advanced Threat Prevention System (FPT); Umbala; MoMo; Atadi; Haravan ... were performed at FPT Tech Day 2016.

Aiming at further promoting the technology community and creating a new ecosystem, Tech Day 2016, saw FPT open source some of its platforms at OpenFPT.vn to the startup community. It is expected that in 2016, FPT will open a number of products and services such as voice language, natural language processing, security, image processing, data analysis, transport, trade, infrastructure, business statistics etc.

The world is entering an era of digitization. The firms will create value as well as revenue from digital resource exploitation. API gateway is one of the main factors to promote and realize growth. Tech firms such as Google, Microsoft, Facebook have opened source some of their platforms for community, enabling thousands of technology products to be created. "FPT expects Vietnam’s tech companies will join actively the ecosystem by opening API for the community. This will not only create hundreds of useful tech products, but also help Vietnam improve its position in the digital map,” said FPT CTO Le Hong Viet.

Tech Day is an annual event organized by FPT Corporation. In 2016, the event with the theme of "Connectivity for Breakout," has become an open forum for tech experts inside and outside FPT to discuss and develop ideas and products in a new ecosystem.
