More than 500 students register to join Digital Race
After one month of launch, more than 500 students (145 teams) from 26 universities across the country registered to participate in Digital Race held by FPT Corporation.

After one month of launch, more than 500 students (145 teams) from 26 universities across the country registered to participate in Digital Race held by FPT Corporation.
The University of Information Technology (UIT) under Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) has the most number of teams with 22 teams. It is followed by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (17 teams), Hanoi University of Technology (13 teams), Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (11 teams), VNU University of Engineering and Technology (9 teams) and FPT University (9 teams) in Hanoi and HCMC.
It is expected that 6 universities with the most participants will hol matches to find 6 most outstanding representatives for the finals. In addition, FPT will hold two matches for the universities outside Hanoi and HCM City to find the remaining two candidates for the finals.
Students are ready for Digital Race.
According to Mr. Tran Xuan Tu – Head of Division of Science, Technology and International Relations, Faculty of Engineering Physics and Nanotechnology, VNU-UET, Digital Race not only helps students apply theory and research to practice, but also provide them with new knowledge such as driverless, embedded programming, object recognition, Real-Time Image Processing etc. In particular, students will be trained and practice necessary skills namely team work, planning and project management etc.
The race with the topic of Driverless takes place from November, 2016 to April 2017. The contest is open to all students across the country. The teams entering the final round will be given one model car which has been setup and open source library.
The total value of prizes is worth up to VND 700 million. They include one first prize worth VND 450 million (including one visit to Silicon Valley (US) and some kind); one second prize worth VND 30 million; two third prizes, each worth VND20 million; 08 prizes for best teams of the qualifying round, each worth VND 10 million. The school has gained the best teams will receive 50 million in cash and other valuable prizes.

About Digital Race 2016-2017
Digital Race is an annual technology competition organized by FPT Corporation.
In order to participate in the competition, applicants need to have basic knowledge of image processing for ADAS, statistical machine learning, embedded programming, artificial intelligence, Linux programming as well as know how to use programming language C/C ++. Each team should have 3-5 members from the same university.
With the theme of Driverless, Digital Race 2016-2017 consists of two rounds:
The qualifying round (January 11-15): The organizers will receive documents through the website http://cuocduaso.fpt.com.vn/http://digitalrace.fpt.com.vn from November 1 to 30. Then, they will organize 08 matches to find out the best teams.
The finals (January 16-April 2017): The teams entering the final round will be given one model car which has been setup and open source library. The teams use their knowledge in the field of programming, image processing, artificial intelligence to handle road recognition algorithm, helping cars move at full speed. It is expected that the final match will take place in April 2017.
