Up to 10 am on October 19, 92,792 train tickets for Tet have been sold, 60% (equal to 62,971 tickets) of which was purchased via the website.
At 8 am October 15, Vietnam National Railway Company started selling tickets for Tet 2018 via their website www.dsvn.vn, in the station and with their agencies. In Ho Chi Minh city, there were pretty many people came to buy tickets in the station. However, FPT IS and National Railway Company encourage people to buy tickets online for convenience.
On contrary, there were not many people in Hanoi’s station because the distance from Hanoi to Northern provinces is not as far as from Ho Chi Minh city to Binh Duong and Dong Nai where a huge number of workers lived.
To ensure the fairness and transparency, FPT has added the anti-robot function to the booking website, which will limit using robot to book a large number of tickets to reserve. People on purchasing tickets on www.dsvn.vn have to do several other steps to verify that they are not robot.
In 2017, the booking system has been upgraded with several functions supporting operation, management as well as making it more convenient for buyers. The most outstanding function allows the railway company to build flexible prices for tickets so that they can offer promotion campaign on time.
According to data, 13%, 16% and 19% of total tickets were sold online in 2015, 2016 and 2017 respectively. It is clear that the trend of using online service is increasing gradually and will be the main channel for sale in the future.
