This afternoon, on May 9th, the Career and Study Fair for the Semiconductor Industry took place at FPT University Hanoi. The event was organized by businesses operating in the Semiconductor industry and universities training in this field in Taiwan.

Attending the event from FPT University were PhD. Nguyen Khac Thanh (Principal of FPT University), PhD. Nguyen Kim Anh (Vice Principal of FPT University), MSc. Nguyen Ha Thanh (Head of the International Cooperation Department at FPT Edu), Mr. Vu Hai Long (Director of FPT BTEC and Melbourne Polytechnic Hanoi), along with representatives of staff from the University Program Development Department, the International Cooperation Department, and the Personal Development Program.

The event saw the participation of prominent businesses and universities from Taiwan specializing in semiconductors, including Realtek Semiconductor Corp, Phison Electronics Corp, Ardentec, UMC, ELAN Microelectronics Corp, Micron Taiwan, Chang Gung University, Lunghwa University, Taipei Tech University, and Chao Tung University.

Notably, over 60 IT students from FPT Edu, comprising students from both FPT University Hanoi and FPT Polytechnic College Hanoi, participated in the event. They gained insights into training programs and business operations within the Semiconductor industry. Moreover, they engaged in direct interviews with representatives from various businesses and universities, aiming to explore scholarship and employment prospects in this field in Taiwan.

Representatives from Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwanese businesses, and universities attended the Career and Study Fair, Mr. Chen Kuo Hsuan, Director of the IT Industry Division at the Taiwan Technology Development Agency, provided an overview of the semiconductor industry, highlighting its significant development over the past 50 years, making it one of the key industries in the country.

Developing high-quality human resources for the semiconductor industry is of particular interest to Taiwanese universities and businesses. "This is why we are here today: to invite and encourage Vietnamese and FPT University students to participate in study and work programs in Taiwan," Mr. Chen Kuo Hsuan emphasized.

Mr. Chen Kuo Hsuan also expressed that this event will unlock "new opportunities for the future career advancement" of young Vietnamese talents in the Semiconductor industry.

During his brief address at the Fair, PhD. Nguyen Khac Thanh emphasized the significance of nurturing talent and fostering the development of this industry in the present landscape. "FPT Corporation and FPT University have certain foundations in training human resources and developing semiconductor products and we are taking the first steps in this process," said PhD. Nguyen Khac Thanh.

PhD. Nguyen Khac Thanh saw the Career and Study Fair as a valuable opportunity for FPT University students to acquire insights and grasp valuable job and study prospects in Taiwan, a leading hub for Semiconductor industry training and development. He also anticipated that the university's faculty members and program development personnel would benefit from the occasion, enhancing their professional growth and knowledge.

Following the insights shared by representatives from Taiwanese businesses and universities, as well as FPT University, over 60 IT students from FPT Edu, comprising attendees from FPT University and FPT Polytechnic College, engaged in direct interviews and consultations with representatives from semiconductor companies and universities offering relevant training. It's worth noting that to qualify for this direct interview segment, FPT Edu students underwent an initial round of CV screening conducted online by representatives of Taiwanese businesses and universities.

FPT Edu students will have the opportunity to gather insights into training programs, products, and projects within the semiconductor field that businesses and universities are currently undertaking. Notably, numerous recruitment and learning prospects within the semiconductor industry at Taiwanese businesses and universities will be earmarked for students who exhibit requisite knowledge, skills, and alignment with industry requirements during the interviews.

Today's event provides FPT Edu students with the chance to enroll in semiconductor training programs at universities. Those who seize this opportunity may receive various benefits, including free tuition, accommodation, and monthly stipends ranging from 8 to 25 million VND, depending on the program (internship, Master's, PhD, post-doctoral). Moreover, for students aiming to pursue careers in this field, potential salaries could fall within the range of 60 to 100 million VND per month, with annual increments.
