Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, focused on realizing Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation – one of the four strategic pillars that Khanh Hoa Province is prioritizing for implementation. From there, the CEO of FPT proposed five major directions to create breakthroughs.

The first is to build a Coastal Innovation Zone spanning Khánh Hòa Ninh Thuận, serving as a pilot area for special mechanisms and sandbox models in artificial intelligence, open data, renewable energy, and marine technology.

The second is to develop a coastal technology startup ecosystem, fostering close connections among universities, research institutes, enterprises, and international partners.

The third is to invest in core technology platforms such as AI, big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things, applying them in various sectors including tourism, healthcare, agriculture, and the marine economy – with the goal of making Khánh Hòa the nation’s “data eye” for marine and renewable energy.

The fourth is to establish a Local Science and Technology Fund led by the government and supported by the business sector.

The fifth is to pilot a “comprehensive smart digital citizen” model that integrates learning, healthcare, administration, and digital identity services on a unified technology platform.

In addition, FPT recommended that the province establish five new growth pillars toward achieving a digital GDP target. Among them, smart cities and digital government will play a central role, contributing around 1.5% annual growth. The digital economy and artificial intelligence could add another 2%, driven by marine data utilization and digital twin city models.

The MICE tourism and high-end service sectors are identified as new strengths for the province if digitalization and green transformation are effectively combined. Meanwhile, the marine logistics cluster and the Vân Phong – Cam Ranh transshipment ports have the potential to develop into digital transshipment hubs similar to Penang. Finally, green energy and energy technology will be key growth areas if the province can leverage data and technology to optimize the use of its existing 3,700MW of renewable power capacity.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa stated that FPT has studied successful global models such as Jeju (South Korea), Valencia (Spain), Penang (Malaysia), and Malta. These regions may not have large populations or vast land areas, but they have achieved breakthroughs through well-planned technology strategies, innovation, and decisive policymaking.

As Vietnam’s leading technology corporation, FPT is committed to accompanying Khanh Hoa on its comprehensive digital transformation journey. Specifically, FPT will support the province in implementing digital government, developing open data platforms, nurturing a technology startup ecosystem, and integrating education, research, and innovation through FPT’s center in Khanh Hoa. FPT aims to train 50,000 digital workers for the province by 2030 while supporting local small and medium-sized enterprises in their digital transformation and AI adoption.

At the conference, the CEO of FPT Corporation also called on local authorities to boldly pilot new mechanisms, reduce investment barriers, and continue institutional reforms to create a more citizen- and business-friendly environment. Enterprises, he said, need to invest in technology, innovate their production models, and participate more deeply in global value chains. Citizens should proactively learn, adapt, and become digital citizens in the data era.

Khanh Hoa is not only a tourist destination but also a place that can ignite Vietnam’s aspirations – where every citizen is part of the nation’s digital future,” affirmed the CEO of FPT Corporation.

Over the years, FPT has accompanied Khanh Hoa in laying the foundations for digital transformation, telecommunications, healthcare, and education development. In 2021, FPT sponsored the province’s master planning, working with McKinsey & Company to propose breakthroughs based on innovation and technology. The province now has an IOC – its “digital brain” – and an investment promotion portal developed with FPT’s support. Telecommunications infrastructure has been expanded across 16 wards and 37 communes. FPT Long Châu and FPT vaccination centers have contributed to improving community health. FPT University and FPT Schools in Nha Trang have become centers for training young talent in technology and AI, with nearly 200 FPT engineers currently working in the province.

FPT continues to accompany the Government, ministries, and provinces in addressing major national challenges through science and technology. As of July 1, 2025, FPT has collaborated on digital transformation initiatives with 32 out of 63 provinces and cities across the country. Strengthened cooperation between FPT and Khánh Hòa will create new momentum for development and contribute to realizing the aspiration of advancing the province through knowledge and technology.
