Mr. Truong Gia Binh Appointed as Member of the Prime Minister’s Policy Advisory Council

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has established the Policy Advisory Council consisting of 13 members, half of whom are former leaders of ministries and government agencies.

The Policy Advisory Council held its first meeting on the afternoon of April 24.
According to Decision No. 812 dated April 24, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation and Head of the Research and Development Board for the Private Economic Sector under the Prime Minister’s Administrative Procedure Reform Advisory Council, has been appointed as a Member of the Prime Minister’s Policy Advisory Council. Alongside Mr. Binh, 12 other individuals have also been appointed, including former leaders of ministries and agencies, educational administrators, experts, and business executives.
The Policy Advisory Council serves as a consultative organization. It is responsible for analyzing, forecasting, and assessing the implementation results of socio-economic development plans, strategies, and policies. Based on these evaluations, the Council will advise and recommend to the Prime Minister solutions to improve execution efficiency or propose amendments to existing mechanisms in order to achieve established objectives.
The Council also provides recommendations to the Prime Minister on timely responses to unusual domestic and international developments. It participates in the review of major socio-economic reports and proposals prepared by the Government and the Prime Minister for submission to competent authorities.
The Policy Advisory Council is authorized to work directly with ministries, agencies, and localities. It may also request relevant bodies to provide documents, data, and information necessary for its operations.
In addition, the Prime Minister’s Policy Advisory Council may consult with experts and collaborators, including domestic and international scientists, economists, and overseas Vietnamese. Members of the Council are also invited to attend conferences, meetings, and government working missions related to their advisory functions.
