On December 11, 2023, the Hope Foundation achieved an esteemed accolade in the Enduring Project category at the Human Act Prize 2023, held at Hoan Kiem Lake Theater.
The Human Act Prize is organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Ministry of Science and Technology, with organizational coordination by VCCorp Joint Stock Company. This award aims to commend individuals and organizations that have positively impacted society through noteworthy community initiatives and projects, fostering long-term and sustainable effects.
In order to qualify for this recognition, entities must meet specific criteria, including commitment, sustainability, creativity, impact, and pervasiveness. In the Enduring Project category, the Hope Foundation was lauded for its endeavors that contribute positively and sustainably to the community. With a child-centric approach, the foundation focuses on sustainable development, aspiring to create an egalitarian and progressive society. The Hope Foundation has implemented programs across over 40 provinces and cities, especially in challenging and remote areas such as Ha Giang, Dien Bien, Son La, Quang Nam, Dong Thap, Bac Lieu, An Giang, and Ca Mau. Noteworthy initiatives include "Light up the School," "Encouraging Children to Go to School," "Sun of Hope," "School Hygiene," and "Electronic Library." As of August 2023, the Hope Foundation has constructed and repaired over 130 degraded schools, replaced over 330 wooden plank bridges with solid concrete bridges, supported more than 2,100 pediatric patients, and donated 35 electronic libraries nationwide.

Ms. Nguyen Xuan Tu, the Executive Director of the Hope Foundation, conveyed that the award serves as acknowledgment for the foundation's enduring journey over time, reaching out to highly remote and challenging areas."This recognition acts as a driving force for us to persist in our mission of supporting difficult circumstances and fostering social development. Acts of kindness should be widely disseminated and replicated, just like the Head of the Award Organizing Committee said, 'Don't hesitate when engaging in benevolent actions and spreading positive stories in life'", emphasized Ms. Tu.
The Human Act Prize 2023 also honored three other projects in the Enduring Project category: Stand Tall Vietnam Milk Fund (Vinamilk), Connect with Love with Golden Lotus (Vietnam Airlines), and Turn off the Lights and Turn on Ideas (BOO Trading Joint Stock Company). These projects were recognized for their relentless contributions to community welfare.
Distinguished attendees at the award ceremony included esteemed members of the Party Central Committee: Lai Xuan Mon, Standing Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper and Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, as well as Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Pham Tat Thang, Standing Deputy Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Committee; Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Nguyen Dac Vinh, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee and Chairman of the National Assembly's Culture and Education Committee. The ceremony was also graced by leaders from central and local ministries, departments, and branches.
In its inaugural year, the Human Act Prize 2023 attracted over 130 social projects, with the jury selecting the top 35 initiatives for the final round. These initiatives stand out as exemplary, simultaneously meeting one or more criteria — promising, sustainable, inspirational, durable, and timely. Moreover, they span various facets of life, addressing critical areas such as livelihood, hunger eradication, poverty reduction, medical assistance, education, and environmental protection. Notably, these efforts extend to preventing the detrimental impacts of natural disasters, storms, and floods and addressing the consequences of climate change.
