The First "Make-in-Vietnam" Autonomous Robot Attracts Tech Community

NextAMR of FPT Corporation - The first autonomous robot used in industrial production developed by Vietnamese people - was first showcased on the 20th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Hi-Tech Park.

The technology exhibition was one of the key highlights of the HCMC Hi-Tech Park's 20th anniversary, which took place on 29 October in Thu Duc, HCMC. Under the theme of "Innovation - Connection - Breakthrough," the exhibition was the stage for domestic and foreign enterprises located in the Hi-Tech Park, such as FPT, HDBank, Jabil, and TTI ... to demonstrate their tech achievements. All firms primarily focus on technologies that effectively promote the digital economy and digital society of HCMC and Vietnam in general.

In particular, FPT Corporation's booths caught the technology community and businesses' attention. With the massage of "Tech creates more Joy," FPT introduced technology products and helpful solutions with high applicability. Those products were picked up from the Made-by-FPT ecosystem and developed based on core technology platforms, including AI, Blockchain, Cloud, and Big Data. Their wide applications in key areas helped create happiness for organizations, businesses, and people.
For Digital Enterprises, the Corporation brought about two products: NextAMR (The Autonomous Robot) and Nextdrive DMS (the Driver Monitoring System).

Most prominently at the exhibition area, NextAMR, developed by Next Robotics (of FPT Software), demonstrated its operation by automatically lifting the symbolic block of the 20th anniversary of the Hi-Tech Park, positioning it, and then moving it to the exact point as required. During the operation, the supervisor did not need to control or adjust the robot's movement, as it could run itself using high-tech sensors.

It was the very first autonomous robot used in industrial production developed by Vietnamese people. In the factory, NextAMR can automatically find ways and move around flexibly without any rails. Furthermore, it can proactively avoid people and other obstacles and stay updated about map changes. NextAMR can transport goods with a weight limit of up to 1 ton, operating 24/7 and replacing a number of laborers depending on specific applications.

Besides, Nextdrive DMS (Driver Monitoring System) is the "right hand" of drivers, road users, and transporters. Integrated AI into image analysis,  Nextdrive DMS allows real-time monitoring and warning, analyzing dangerous behaviors such as phone use, drowsiness, and distraction with high accuracy in all lighting conditions. Moreover, Nextdrive DMS also lets drivers track the location, travel speed, distance, and energy consumption of vehicles, which provides various helpful information for fleet management.

For the Digital Government, FPT demonstrated the Command Center for Covid-19 prevention and economic recovery of District 7, HCMC. It was the first government technology center for monitoring pandemic prevention and control, vaccination, social security, and economic recovery. Thanks to the Command Center, District 7's revenue in October 2021 was approximately equal to the entire Quarter 3 2021. In the next phase, FPT will target to turn the Center into an e-government and smart city solution, with two applications of Cong chuc Truc tuyen and Quan 7 Truc tuyen.

In terms of the digital society, FPT brought two products (FPT Smart Home and FPT Camera) to the exhibition. Based on the outstanding technology platforms of FPT Corporation and FPT Telecom, FPT Smart Home has provided superior smart home solutions. FPT Camera owns various alert features converged from high-tech AI and Cloud solutions, FPT's leading telecommunications technology and infrastructure, and the data center system that meets international Tier III standards. Such features as motion recognition, alert zoning, cross-platform administration, and FPT's commitment to reputable services are what make this product preferred and praised.

HCMC Hi-Tech Park  - the core that makes HCMC the "green gem" of the region

As the largest domestic investor in the HCMC Hi-Tech Park, FPT had Mr. Truong Gia Binh - FPT Corporation Chairman - give an inspiring talk at the Hi-Tech Park's 20th anniversary. According to Mr. Binh, the HCMC Hi-Tech Park should be the creative core and the growth momentum of HCMC to turn into the Intellectual Center of the region.

Sharing at the event, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT, affirmed: "HCMC would not be the regional Intellectual Center without the HCMC Hi-Tech Park here where we stand."

His metaphors implied that HCMC would lead the world in emerging technologies such as AI, Blockchain, Metaverse, and Cloud. In addition, it would pioneer researching and developing the latest technologies in clean energy (wind, solar...), energy accumulation methods such as hydrogen and electric motors, and new generations of green vehicles...
