Shopee partners with FPT Trading to expand electronics business

E-commerce platform Shopee signed a strategic cooperation agreement with FPT Trading on the expansion of electronics business on July 10.

In Vietnam, Shopee has racked up 5 million app downloads, ranked among large e-commerce platforms last year. Following this success, Shopee Vietnam decided to partner with FPT Trading to expand its electronics business in order to meet the shopping habits of male consumers.

According to Director of Operations and Finance of Shopee Vietnam Tran Tuan Anh, the male customers of Shopme (www.shopee.vn) are rapidly growing. So Shopee decided to expand its electronics business by cooperating with FPT Trading - one of few large Vietnamese distributors.

Shopee and FPT Trading cooperated in electronics business

More than 50% of male customers ever bought high-value products such as smartphones, smart watches, and fitness trackers, according to data from Shopee. Besides price and design, they pay much attention to convenience, safety, warranty as well as convenience of shopping online.

CEO of FPT Trading Bui Ngoc Khanh said that only one year after launching, Shopee Vietnam became an online shopping community attracting many potential customers of FPT Trading. This cooperation will give FPT Trading an opportunity to reach a large number of target customers.

Earlier, the two sides also cooperated in providing genuine mobile phones. They would offer best prices to customers shopping at Shopee.
