FPT Corporation and Hope Foundation Launch 'FPT Wings for Dreams' Program in Muong Lat

Thanh Hoa, October 12, 2024, FPT People’s Fund for the Community, in partnership with the Hope Foundation, organized the "FPT Wings for Dreams" program in Muong Lat. This initiative is part of the "Light Up The School" series, aimed at enhancing educational facilities for students in remote, underprivileged areas.

The event saw the participation of local representatives, including Mr. Hoang Van Dung, Member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Muong Lat District People's Committee, along with leaders from Muong Ly Commune People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training, school directors, teachers, parents, and students. Representing FPT Corporation were Mr. Nguyen The Phuong, Executive Vice President of FPT, leaders from various departments, Hope Foundation's CEO Nguyen Xuan Tu, and other FPT staff members.

This activity is part of the "Light Up The School" program, aimed at enhancing educational facilities for students in mountainous, remote, and disadvantaged areas. Muong Lat, a border district in Thanh Hoa province, faces significant challenges, including recent floods and landslides that severely damaged a boarding school and cut off several roads. The district has 32 schools serving over 10,000 students, 80% of whom belong to the Mong and Thai ethnic groups, and many of these students face difficult living conditions.

During the trip, the team inaugurated several vital projects, including the opening of Cha Lan school, the handover of 2 toilet facilities as part of a cluster of 21 projects, and the repainting of 3 degraded schools. Additionally, three electronic libraries were donated to schools in Muong Lat district. To further enhance children's learning and playing environment, the delegation also provided modern playground equipment. The total sponsorship, amounting to nearly 4 billion VND, was contributed by the Hope Foundation and FPT Corporation.

Mr. Nguyen The Phuong was visibly moved as he witnessed the daily challenges faced by highland students, including a lack of clean water, deteriorating boarding facilities, and damaged classrooms. He emphasized that these hardships motivated FPT and the Hope Foundation to undertake this project. "Each brick we lay represents the love and commitment from the Hope Foundation and FPT Corporation, as well as the people passionate about giving back to the community," he shared. "Our goal is not only to improve infrastructure and build new classrooms but also to provide electronic libraries, granting students access to advanced knowledge and technology while supporting teachers with better resources. A well-equipped school offers a safe and clean learning environment, inspiring students and teachers alike, helping them aspire to a brighter future."
