The Prime Minister highly appreciated the complex model of FPT University and so

On August 10th, 2018, FPT Corporation held the Inauguration ceremony of the first phase of the Complex of FPT University and Software Park in Can Tho. This event continues to mark FPT's pioneering step in building a complex of university and software park, contributing to the provision of high quality human resources for the Mekong Delta Region. Attending the inauguration ceremony were Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, leaders of Can Tho City, leaders and staffs of FPT Corporation.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated the model of building a complex of university and software park with an organic link between the theoretical training with practical skills training in production and business activities of enterprises. This is an effective model for training the latest technology areas, namely 4.0 technology.

The Prime Minister also suggested that FPT University's campus in Can Tho should be a source of human resources for science and technology, especially digital human resources for high growth fields such as hi-tech agriculture and tourism of the Mekong Delta area.

With the introduction of a combination of university and software park, FPT hopes to create a real environment for students to study and participate in the software industry at the same time while still being student. This is an important foundation for students to become truly human resources with knowledge, skills and practical experience, quickly catching up with the pace of social development in the 4.0 technology revolution.

At the same time, as the demand for high technology development in Can Tho city is becoming increasingly urgent, the construction and expansion of FPT's scale will create thousands of new jobs in software services, information technology and other economic sectors such as tourism, hi-tech agriculture. FPT expects to contribute in providing high quality human resources for the Mekong Delta. In particular, FPT Software plans to recruit at least 500 new staffs in Can Tho to 2020.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Bui Quang Ngoc, General Director of FPT Corporation emphasized: "At present, the 4th industrial revolution is going on strongly in the world and Vietnam is having a chance to rise up to a new high level, in which high quality human resources play a very important role. With the aspiration to help Vietnam soon have high quality human resources not only in IT but also in all fields such as hi-tech agriculture, tourism ... to meet the development of the country, FPT has created a model of a complex of university and software park to both acquire and disseminate knowledge, as well as transfer technology. Can Tho is the fourth destination in the country where FPT builds a complex model of education institution and software park. We are committed to long-term cooperation with the local to build a solid foundation for the young generation, become a center for providing human resources in science and technology field, especially digital human resources in order to build Can Tho to become a smart city, catch up with the trend of the 4.0 revolution. "

FPT University and Software Park project is the first education - technology complex in the Mekong Delta and has an investment capital of 1,170 billion VND. The project has a size of 17.4 hectares, meeting the needs of learning and working of 10,000 college students and 5,000 staffs. By the end of July 2018, the Complex of FPT University and Software Park in Can Tho completed the first phase with an investment of over 200 billion VND.

Specifically, the project has completed the Beta building with an area of ​​10,000 m2, including 60 classrooms of all kinds with the capacity of 3,000 students, a 800 m2 library, a hall of 800 seats, a 4.500 m2 standard football stadium with landscape, trees and lotus ponds ...

As planned, in 2019, the project will continue to build the Gama building with an area of ​​12,000 m2, boarding high school and dormitory buildings, canteen buildings and other sports facilities.

FPT University and Software Park project in Can Tho is the fourth project of university and software park complex of FPT Corporation. Previously, FPT had owned three projects nationwide, including:

- The Complex of University and Software Park in Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park, Hanoi with the scale of 400,000 m2, meeting the work and study demand of more than 30,000 students and staffs;

- The Complex of University and Software Park in Da Nang with the scale of nearly 110,000 m2, meeting the work and study demand of more than 15,000 students and staffs;

- The Complex of University and Software Park in Hi-Tech Park, District 9, Ho Chi Minh City with the scale of nearly 100,000 m2, meeting the work and study demand of more than 22,000 students and staffs.
