FPT CEO: AI Is the Key for Vietnam’s Young Entrepreneurs to rise globally

Hanoi, November 27, 2025 — Speaking at the plenary session of the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, delivered a strong message on the role of young entrepreneurs in the technology era. He affirmed: “If Vietnam embraces digital transformation, we can absolutely rise to the leading group.”

With a vision to cultivate a new generation of entrepreneurs who are courageous, innovative, and technologically empowered, Mr. Khoa emphasized the urgent need to invest in science and technology, data, and innovation to ensure that Vietnamese businesses can compete on equal footing in global markets.

Despite the private sector contributing 42% of Vietnam’s GDP and 55% of national income over the past decade, Mr. Khoa highlighted that Vietnamese enterprises are still “not strong enough” to contend with major global corporations.

The core gap lies in insufficient investment in innovation and science & technology (S&T) — the decisive factors for Vietnam to escape the middle-income trap and transition toward a knowledge-based economy.

According to Mr. Khoa, the new generation of young entrepreneurs has committed to three strategic breakthroughs:

1. Breakthrough in human capital – treating talent as the nation’s most valuable asset.

2. Breakthrough in science, technology, and data – making innovation the backbone of competitiveness.

3. Breakthrough in business models and ecosystems – building resilient, globally connected value networks.

He stressed that young entrepreneurs must develop the capability to “collaborate with AI”, viewing data as the new competitive energy source. As the Government accelerates the development of national data infrastructures, businesses that fail to connect by 2026 will inevitably fall behind.

“If we master science, technology, and digital transformation, Vietnam can absolutely ascend to the leading group in the new era. Young entrepreneurs must commit to mastering technology and investing in knowledge to elevate Vietnam’s global aspirations,” Mr. Khoa emphasized.
