The workshop took place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on June 28, 2024, held both onsite at FPT Hola Park, the IT campus of FPT Software, and online via Zoom. The workshop aims to achieve three main goals:

- Assess the impact of AI on businesses led by women or those with a significant female workforce and propose support solutions for future stages.
The workshop was attended by representatives from businesses in VBCWE's and VBCSD's networks, as well as Women's Business Associations from several provinces and cities within Vietnam's Women's Business Association member network. Also present were the Red Star Business Club members and various organizations and associations interested in the topic. During the event, VBCWE also took the opportunity to review its 12-month operations ending on June 30, 2024, and expressed appreciation to its members.
Overview of the Workshop "Artificial Intelligence: Job Prospects and Challenges for Female Employees and Leaders in Private Sector"
Ms. Ha Thu Thanh - Chairwoman of VBCWE - said: "Creating a fair and inclusive work environment for all is the ongoing goal of VBCWE, collaborating closely with businesses. As AI continues to advance and shape the future of employment for female workers, we are committed to partnering with companies to enhance awareness and develop suitable response strategies. Our goal is to ensure that the evolution of AI is inclusive, promoting its benefits while safeguarding jobs for everyone, mainly female workers, and fostering workplace equality."
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Vice President of VCCI and Chairman of VBCSD: "Promoting gender equality and enhancing economic empowerment for women within the Vietnamese business community is a central commitment of VBCSD and VBCWE. In this era of AI, which significantly impacts female workers' roles, we aim to collaborate with businesses to proactively enhance their understanding and proficiency in technology. This effort is geared toward fostering sustainable business development rooted in core values of equality."
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phong, Director of AI at FPT Software, added: "We are committed to actively supporting women to excel in the technology industry, particularly in AI. At FPT Software, women comprise 30% of our workforce, significantly above the industry average. Moreover, women's participation in AI, particularly in leadership roles, is notably high. Women have abundant opportunities in AI, and we are eager to share insights to help female leaders and workers harness the power of AI for more effective work practices."
At FPT Software, women comprise 30% of our workforce, significantly above the industry average.
In addition to the Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and cloud computing, AI is a cornerstone technology of the fourth industrial revolution. Global recognition of AI's development trend and profound impact on society has recently grown. According to estimates from Goldman Sachs, AI applications could boost labor productivity and increase global GDP by 7% annually over the next decade. Vietnam is actively embracing this transformative trend.
AI is currently emerging as a pivotal tool and focal point driving future employment trends. It represents not only an inevitable direction but also wields significant influence over the development of the next generation of workers and leaders, particularly women. This necessitates a thorough and profound understanding of AI to maximize its opportunities and effectively address its challenges. Vietnamese enterprises in the private sector, particularly those led by women or with substantial female workforces, must grasp the role of AI and its implications for their operations.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Dan Phuong, Director of Marketing and Strategic Cooperation of FPT Software, delivered a speech at the workshop
Private businesses, particularly those with a significant female workforce and a focus on cultivating female leadership, urgently require a comprehensive understanding of AI, encompassing its opportunities and challenges.
This initiative is a crucial focus for VBCWE, and it will soon collaborate closely with VBCSD to implement it. Starting on June 28, FPT Software will officially become part of VBCWE's network, aiming to share its experiences and practices in promoting gender equality and empowering women in society, notably through technological solutions.
