In an effort to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds access quality education, FPT University, a member of FPT Corporation, has introduced the “Study First – Pay Later” policy for the 2025 enrollment season. Under this policy, 1,000 admitted students with financial difficulties will receive tuition support ranging from 30% to 70% of the total program fee, to be repaid within five years after graduation.
Tuition fees are among the key factors influencing students and families in choosing a university. Many capable students are forced to postpone their university dreams due to financial constraints.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, more than 120,000 students who were admitted to universities in 2024 did not enroll, accounting for 18.13% of total admitted candidates. A VnExpress survey (2024) revealed that 73% of respondents cited “tuition fees exceeding affordability” as the main reason for being unable to pursue higher education.

FPT University’s “Study First – Pay Later” policy aims to help students study with peace of mind, free from financial worries.
Understanding this reality, FPT University has implemented the “Study First – Pay Later” policy as a sustainable financial solution, enabling students to focus entirely on their academic journey without the burden of financial pressure.
The “Study First – Pay Later” policy in 2025 applies to candidates who: Graduate from high school in 2025 and meet FPT University’s admission requirements; Come from financially disadvantaged families and wish to participate in the program; Rank in the Top 40 nationwide among 2025 high school graduates (verified at https://SchoolRank.fpt.edu.vn); Submit a valid application and receive approval from the Admissions Council.
Students may choose to defer 30%, 50%, or 70% of total tuition fees for the entire program. The deferred payment interest rate will be equivalent to that of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies’ student loan program.
A representative of FPT University emphasized: “The ‘Study First – Pay Later’ policy not only helps remove financial barriers for young people but also represents FPT University’s investment in the nation’s future. By expanding access to education, talented and ambitious students can thrive in a modern learning environment—empowering them to step confidently into the future and become global citizens who contribute positively to society.”
Previously, FPT University had implemented several support initiatives for students in disadvantaged localities such as Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue, Kon Tum, and Binh Thuan. The university is now expanding its efforts to ensure that no student misses the opportunity to study due to financial hardship.
In addition to flexible financial policies, FPT University also awards 2,800 scholarships to talented students, covering tuition fees from one year up to the entire program. Notably, the university offers 100 Global Expert Scholarships, which grant full tuition coverage and a living allowance of VND 30 million per year. Upon graduation, recipients of this scholarship may choose to work in one of five countries: the United States, Japan, South Korea, Germany, or Singapore.
The deadline for submitting applications for the “Study First – Pay Later” program and scholarships (except those based on the competency assessment results of Vietnam National University, Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, or 2025 high school graduation exam results) is May 15, 2025. Results will be announced on May 25, 2025. For applicants applying through competency assessment results of Vietnam National University, Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, or through 2025 high school graduation exam results, submission deadlines are July 1, 2025, and July 31, 2025, respectively.
