FPT University and Gachon University (South Korea) Partner to Train Global Semiconductor Technology Talent

Hanoi, 01/21/2026, FPT University and Gachon University (South Korea) have officially announced a strategic partnership to launch the internationally joint Bachelor’s Program in Semiconductor Technology – Gachon Vietnam, addressing the growing demand for high-quality semiconductor talent amid the rapid expansion of the global semiconductor industry.

As the semiconductor sector continues to expand rapidly in South Korea, Asia, and worldwide—emerging as a strategic pillar of the global digital economy—the labor market increasingly requires engineers who not only possess strong technical foundations but also demonstrate practical application capabilities and the ability to operate in international environments. In this context, Vietnamese students, recognized for their solid academic background and adaptability, are considered well positioned to participate in the global semiconductor value chain.

 

An International Joint Training Model for the Global Semiconductor Industry

 

The collaboration is structured under an international joint training model, combining foundational education in Vietnam with advanced specialization in South Korea. This approach ensures strong integration across academics, research, learning, hands-on practice, and employment opportunities within the semiconductor industry in South Korea.

 

During the first two years, students study in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City within the education and enterprise ecosystem of FPT Corporation. In the subsequent phase, students transfer to Gachon University to undertake specialized training in South Korea’s advanced academic and high-tech industrial environment.

 

The curriculum focuses on core areas of semiconductor technology, including integrated circuit design, semiconductor engineering, fabrication technologies, manufacturing processes, and industrial applications. Training is delivered through modern laboratory systems that meet international education standards in both Vietnam and South Korea.

The Gachon Vietnam program is academically transferred directly from Gachon University and implemented under the university’s rigorous quality assurance and academic governance framework.

Upon completion, graduates are awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Semiconductor Technology issued by Gachon University (South Korea).
