Vice President of Google highly appreciates Sendo.vn

The representative of the world's largest search engine also discussed the possibility of cooperation with FPT in other business directions.

In the afternoon of June 9th, Vice President of Google Mr Rajan Anandan had a meeting with Sendo.vn leaders including Chairman Nguyen Vietnam Dung, CEO Tran Hai Linh, Deputy General Director Nguyen Phuong Hoang at Tan Thuan building, District 7, HCMC.

The meeting was held via Teleconference with participation of Deputy General Director of FPT Nguyen The Phuong in Hanoi. The visit aims to learn about Sendo, Vietnam’s e-commerce market as well as discuss Google’s support for Sendo in expanding market share.

According to Sendo Chairman Mr. Nguyen Dac Viet Dung, the company began using Google’s services at the beginning of 2014 after separating from FPT Online. As a member company of FPT Corporation, Sendo.vn always considered Google as a key partner in Vietnam.

The representative of Sendo.vn made an overview of FPT, Vietnam’s e-commerce market, the establishment process and data of Sendo.vn. Currently, Sendo.vn owned 70,000 shops, 2 million products, 8 million visits per month and 120,000 transactions per month. On 12 May 2014, Sendo.vn reached the milestone of 10,000 transactions per day.

According to Vietnam E-commerce Report 2014 issued by Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade, Sendo.vn ranked second in terms of the total transaction value, following Lazada. "As Lazada implements both B2C and C2C, Sendo.vn stands No. 1 if it comes to net sales of e-commerce", said Mr. Dung. "Sendo.vn is aiming at the growth of 200%/year in the next 2-3 years”.

"What are your competitive strategy with Lazada?", asked Mr. Rajan Anandan. "We will persistently maintain the free business model, focusing on fashion," replied the Chairman of Sendo.vn. "Besides, improving service quality and applying new technologies are always our important goals. Two models of Lazada have the volume of transactions twice as many as Sendo.vn has but with the investment 15 times higher".

Ever being CEO of Google India, Mr. Rajan Anandan also shared about the e-commerce market of the country with the second largest population in the world. According to him, currently India’s leading e-commerce firms namely Flipkart, Amazon had about 300,000 transactions per day. "In order to gain this volume, the companies have invested very strongly in experience on mobile devices," Google Vice President suggested.

Immediately, the representative of Sendo.vn also introduced mobile app to be launched in July. Google’s Vice President was deeply impressed by the interface of Sendo App as well as the feature of voice shopping.

The representative of Sendo.vn desired a deeper integration into Google platforms such as GSN, GDN, DoubleClick to effectively promote Sendo’s products and brands on pages under Google's advertising system ". The advertisement for 2 million products of Sendo.vn on Google is very different from B2C companies with thousands of products," said Google Vice President. According to him, Youtube I was becoming more effective brand channel than television.

Mr. Rajan Anandan also talked to Mr. Nguyen The Phuong about the possibility of cooperation with FPT in other business directions.
