Vietnam Airlines Launches New Website: A “Digital Gateway” in Its Five-Star Airline Strategy

06/02/2026

Hà Nội, February 6, 2026 – Vietnam Airlines has officially launched its next-generation e-commerce website, marking a significant milestone in its comprehensive digital transformation roadmap and its strategy to position itself as a five-star airline. The new platform not only optimizes the online ticketing channel but also lays the foundation for a central digital infrastructure within Vietnam Airlines’ broader transformation strategy.

Amid rapidly shifting consumer behavior toward online environments, Vietnam Airlines identifies digital platforms as a key factor in enhancing customer experience and strengthening competitiveness. The new website has been developed in alignment with major directions in digital transformation, e-commerce, and modern technology adoption, while standardizing user experience in accordance with international five-star service standards.

Đặng Anh Tuấn, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines, emphasized: “The new website is not merely a technology product, but a core component of our long-term strategy to position Vietnam Airlines as a leading digital airline in the Asia-Pacific region. It is where customers can fully experience our service philosophy, brand identity, and customer-centric approach.”

Compared to the previous version, the new website features a modern, youthful, and user-friendly design. The layout has been reorganized to help customers focus on key actions such as booking tickets, managing reservations, and checking in. A flexible navigation system and streamlined booking flow reduce processing time and minimize errors during reservations.

A notable highlight is the fare class presentation area, designed with inspiration from boarding passes, allowing passengers to easily compare benefits across Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class. The use of colors, imagery, and layout has been carefully curated to reflect both modernity and Vietnamese cultural identity—an element that distinguishes Vietnam Airlines on the global aviation map.

The new website also integrates an intelligent AI chatbot, serving as a 24/7 virtual assistant for customer support. With fast, accurate, and multilingual responses, the chatbot helps optimize information search time. Combined with a multi-channel customer service system, the AI chatbot enhances responsiveness and interaction efficiency, delivering a seamless and user-friendly experience.

Beyond interface improvements, the platform has been significantly upgraded in terms of personalization capabilities. By analyzing behavioral data, search history, and geographic location, the system can automatically recommend tailored itineraries, promotions, and services. First-time visitors are introduced to featured destinations, while returning users can quickly access previously viewed itineraries or services. Timely prompts—such as reminders for incomplete bookings or suggestions for ancillary services—support decision-making without creating unnecessary disruption.

The website has also been developed with an ecosystem-oriented approach, enabling passengers to manage their entire journey on a unified platform. In addition to flight bookings, users can purchase additional baggage, select meals, choose seats, upgrade classes, manage bookings, and track flight and baggage status in real time. In the near future, Vietnam Airlines plans to expand integrations with supplementary services such as hotels, travel packages, and exclusive offers for Lotusmiles members, gradually delivering a seamless end-to-end experience before, during, and after each journey.

The new website was developed in collaboration with FPT Corporation, leveraging Adobe’s content management and customer experience platforms, and built on a cloud-native architecture. This ensures faster page loading speeds and stable performance even during peak periods. The booking flow has been optimized for responsiveness, smooth operation, and compatibility across devices, from desktops to mobile phones. The platform also complies with WCAG standards of the World Wide Web Consortium, meeting accessibility requirements set by U.S. authorities for users with disabilities.

The launch of this next-generation e-commerce website underscores Vietnam Airlines’ commitment to investing systematically in digital infrastructure, positioning technology as a key lever to enhance competitiveness and service quality. “We will continue to upgrade and expand our digital services, placing customer experience at the center, so that every journey with Vietnam Airlines is not only convenient but also meaningful and sustainable,” Đặng Anh Tuấn affirmed.

Within Vietnam Airlines’ broader digital transformation landscape, the new website is not just a technological product, but a clear statement of the national carrier’s long-term vision as it strives to achieve five-star standards and deepen its integration into the global aviation industry.
