The Vietnam Tech Impact Summit 2024 (VTIS) is set to take place from December 3-4, 2024, at the National Convention Center. The Summit explores future technology trends, showcasing industry strengths and emerging potentials. In addition to insightful sessions, the event will feature various sideline activities, including fashion shows, cosplay competitions, and music performances.
The Vietnam Tech Impact Summit 2024 (VTIS), organized by SSI Digital and hosted by leading industry players FPT Corporation and SSI Securities Corporation, promises to be a landmark event in the technology sector.
The Summit features a robust agenda, including over 20 keynote speeches and panel discussions, cutting-edge technology exhibitions, and over 50 sideline activities such as fashion shows, cosplay competitions, and music performances.
Prominent industry leaders such as Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Chairman of SSI Securities Corporation; Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation; and Mr. Don Lam, Chairman of VinaCapital, will headline the event.
Discussions will center on technology-driven investment strategies, and the steps Vietnamese businesses must take to unlock opportunities in emerging tech markets. The speakers will address critical challenges and propose actionable solutions to achieve strategic goals.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Chairman of SSI, highlighted Vietnam's emerging position in the global digital asset market and underscored the urgent need for a comprehensive legal framework to support its development. He emphasized that Vietnam is rising rapidly in the tech-driven economy due to its dynamic and passionate young population. According to the latest Forbes research, Vietnam ranks second globally in digital asset ownership and interest. Data from the ten largest global exchanges participating in the VTIS 2024 Conference also confirms that Vietnam holds a top-four position worldwide in trading volume.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung stressed that digital assets are no longer just technological innovations; they have become integral to everyday life in Vietnamese households. He pointed out a critical regulatory gap, noting that while tangible assets can be secured through customs and border control, digital assets have no physical boundaries and can be transferred internationally if Vietnam lacks a strong legal foundation to manage, develop, and protect them within its borders.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung - Chairman of SSI - shared about the current status of digital asset market development in Vietnam.
“So that our businesses and entrepreneurs don’t have to fly to developed countries like Singapore or the US to establish companies, only to return to Vietnam to hire talent and set up production facilities — while the businesses themselves are not considered Vietnamese, and their assets are not Vietnamese,” emphasized Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung.
From a business development perspective, he underscored the crucial role of government support in building a transparent legal framework to enable businesses and entrepreneurs to thrive in the digital asset sector. "We need a transparent legal framework that protects developers and investors, ensures market transparency, prevents deception, and eliminates unfair profits gained through market manipulation," he stressed.
For international organizations, a well-established legal framework would foster cross-border cooperation. “When global organizations come here, they will clearly see what contributions they can make and what benefits they can gain,” Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung concluded.
Highlighting the urgency of establishing a legal framework for the digital asset market, SSI Chairman Nguyen Duy Hung emphasized the importance of leveraging Vietnam's young, tech-savvy population. "We need to ignite a patriotic movement among our tech-driven youth, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the country. In order to achieve this, a digital asset market is essential. Assets gain value only when recognized, freely traded, and securely transacted — attracting resources and fostering active participation," he explained.
Echoing this perspective, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation, stressed that the world is undergoing unprecedented transformations. “By 2030, 75% of today’s jobs may no longer exist,” he warned. With Artificial Intelligence (AI) reshaping the labor market, he underscored the pressing need for workers to adapt by upgrading their skills, mastering AI tools, and embracing technological advancements to remain competitive in the evolving workplace.
Mr. Truong Gia Binh - FPT Chairman - believes that in the era of AI, many other companies will continue to choose Vietnam as their homeland.
According to Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Vietnam has unparalleled opportunities at a historic juncture. "Our country has an unprecedented chance," he asserted. "That's why the General Secretary, in his article on September 2, officially named the revolution: Digital Transformation. His speech marks the beginning of an era for the country's rise. Vietnam has the potential to stand on par with the world's most advanced nations by the 100th anniversary of its independence," the Chairman of FPT Corporation emphasized.
Mr. Binh also highlighted Vietnam's vast potential in the IT sector, particularly its abundant, eager-to-learn human resources. “In the era of AI, more global companies will continue to choose Vietnam as their homeland,” he predicted.
Concluding his speech, Mr. Binh emphasized the critical role of "Data," calling it the cornerstone of all technological advancements. "Data is the oil of the future. Those who know how to harness, process, and utilize it will conquer new frontiers," he affirmed.
