During the 4th industrial revolution, Vietnam will be not only an outsourcing destination but also new technology destination for Japanese companies.
Chairman of FPT Software Hoang Nam Tien stated in Japan ICT Day 2016 in Hanoi on October 26.
According to Mr. Tien, Japan was being faced with IT manpower shortage problem, especially in the fields of IoT and digital transformation, while Vietnam’s young workforce can be able to quickly acquire the knowledge related to these new areas.
As the regional partner of General Electric (GE) in the field of Industrial Internet, FPT in collaboration with GE Digital (a member unit of GE specializing in Digital) bring IIoT and GE Predix of GE into strategic markets including Japan.
Japan ICT Day 2016 is annually held by Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) and Vietnam – Japan IT Cooperation Club (VJC).
This offered Japanese and Vietnamese firms opportunities for cooperation and more business activities. At the event, besides the presentation on Digital Transformation: New technology era – New Vietnam-Japan ICT cooperation era, Chairman of FPT Software Mr. Hoang Nam Tien, and FPT CTO Le Hong Viet participated in two panel discussions including Raising value in Vietnam – Japan cooperation on IT services and Vietnam – Japan IT cooperation in new trends of technology
Vietnam is Japan's second largest software outsourcing partner and drawing much attention of many businesses here. Most of Vietnamese software companies in cooperation with Japanese companies saw the average annual revenue growth rate of 20% or more. In particular, 13% of them earned 100% of revenue from Japan.
