VIISA continues investment into 4 startups of Batch 3

Starting applications for Batch 3 in November 2017, the Vietnam Innovative Startup Accelerator (VIISA), a partnership between Dragon Capital, FPT and Hanwha Investment & Securities attracted more than 100 applications. Many of them showed proven success and traction even prior to joining VIISA Acceleration Program. 4 startups admitted into Batch 3 of its program come from diverse industries, ranging from Digital Voucher Platform, On-demand Healthy Diet Delivery, Agricultural product and service provider, to Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

VIISA invests USD15,000 in cash and an undisclosed amount of in-kind services, including technical resources, office accommodation. Promising teams will also get up to USD200,000 from VIISA’s fundraising track. Besides, they can access world class mentors and investors namely FPT, Dragon Capital Group, Microsoft Vietnam, Coc Coc etc.

Each startup of Batch 3 will get USD15,000 in cash and an undisclosed amount of in-kind services.

"This year, as part of our new growth strategy, we clearly separate our acceleration activities from incubation. More matured teams with established traction will get into the Acceleration phase, while early start-ups join the incubation program VIISA-X. With this new focus, VIISA will be able to support our portfolio startups more thoroughly and improve our Acceleration Program’s quality,” said Dr. Le Hoang Anh, Chairman of VIISA.

Launched in January 2017, VIISA has so far attracted more than 400 applications. The partnership has invested in 18 startups. “VIISA saw Wisepass and Wefit from batch 1 raise more than USD600,000 in seed funding. Cyfeer and Ella study from Batch 2 grew significantly in terms of sales and customers. Their steady growth and regional scaling are testimonials to our efforts in leveling up the startup ecosystem by creating great global companies in Vietnam,” added Mr. Tran Huu Duc, CEO of VIISA.

VIISA Acceleration Program Batch 3 will graduate in July, 2018.
