Hanoi, May 17, 2025 – The Award Ceremony of the 2024–2025 Violympic National Competition took place solemnly at the National Convention Center, gathering more than 1,500 participants, including representatives from the education sector, parents, teachers, and nearly 600 outstanding students from provinces and cities across the country.

The event was not only an opportunity to celebrate a vibrant academic year of Vietnam’s largest online intellectual playground but also reaffirmed the role of Violympic in the digital transformation of education and in nurturing future digital citizens.

More than 4.5 million contestants, nearly 17,000 awards

With over 4.5 million participants from primary to high school levels, the 2024–2025 Violympic continued to demonstrate its widespread influence nationwide. As one of the first large-scale online intellectual competitions in Vietnam, Violympic has made its mark through innovative and engaging exam formats that integrate gamification and align closely with the general education curriculum.

The ceremony was also an occasion to pay tribute to teachers and parents – those who have quietly supported and accompanied the students behind their achievements.

This year’s Violympic once again saw participation from students across all provinces and cities nationwide – from the capital Hanoi to remote areas such as Lai Chau, Son La, Lang Son, and Cao Bang. The active involvement of students from both urban and rural regions underscored the fairness and equality of educational opportunities that this online intellectual platform provides.

Without the need for privileged study conditions or advanced facilities, students only need a device connected to the internet to train their thinking skills and conquer knowledge.

Although unable to attend the ceremony in person, Chu Huong Giang – a student at Nam Nhun Town Primary School (Lai Chau) – could not hide her happiness upon learning that she had won a Silver Medal. This marked the first time a student from her school achieved such a high honor at the national level. “I was surprised and very proud that my efforts were recognized. Thanks to the competition, I got to experience a new way of learning, trained myself to think faster and more carefully, and learned not to give up when facing difficult questions,” Huong Giang shared.

Ms. Le Thuy Duong – Huong Giang’s mother – expressed: “Violympic is not just a competition; it’s a journey that has helped my child learn independence, time management, and how to apply technology effectively in studying. I’m truly happy that she was able to achieve her dream of winning a national prize and has become more confident in her abilities.”

From a mountainous school with limited conditions, the young student persevered through 10 rounds of competition to achieve this proud result. During the school year-end ceremony, the school’s Board of Principals will represent the Violympic Organizing Committee to present Giang with her medal and award – a well-deserved recognition of her relentless effort.

Nearly Two Decades of Dedication to Educational Digital Transformation

Established in 2008, Violympic was designed as an online intellectual playground for students nationwide, promoting proactive learning and a love for technology among millions of learners. Over 18 years of development, Violympic has continuously evolved to keep pace with the digital transformation of education, contributing to the formation of modern thinking and essential skills for Vietnam’s digital citizens.

The 2024–2025 academic year marked the first time that all Violympic exam questions were developed entirely in alignment with the 2018 General Education Program across all grade levels. The content was compiled from three sets of current textbooks to ensure fairness, objectivity, and equal access to knowledge for all students. In addition, the exam format and regulations have been continuously improved to enhance students’ online learning and test-taking experiences.

Notably, Violympic continued to make significant advances in organization and monitoring, applying modern online exam supervision technology based on activity tracking to ensure transparency, accuracy, and fairness in student assessment.

As education enters a comprehensive digital transformation phase under the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, Violympic, with its strength in combining education and modern technology, has enabled students to explore knowledge proactively, flexibly, and creatively. It serves not only as a space for academic competition and assessment but also as an environment that nurtures essential skills for digital-era citizens.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc – Director of the Violympic Program (FPT IS, under FPT Corporation): “With nearly 20 years of accompanying tens of millions of students across the country, Violympic has become a symbol of Vietnamese students’ studious spirit and their desire to conquer knowledge. This is not only a platform for academic competition but also a digital empowerment foundation, helping students develop logical thinking, self-learning, and problem-solving skills – the core competencies of citizens in the digital era.”

From small classrooms in mountainous regions to modern schools in the capital, from behind computer screens to moments of recognition on stage, Violympic’s journey of spreading knowledge continues – carrying with it stories of determination, passion, and the aspiration to conquer knowledge.

The 2025 Violympic Award Ceremony is not only the conclusion of a year of relentless effort but also the beginning of new journeys ahead for these young learners.
