Being one of the four winners of the third award of the Robotics and Intelligent Machines category at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 2017 (ISEF 2017), Pham Huy (Quang Tri Province) was awarded a full scholarship worth of VND 290 million by FPT University.

In the morning of June 5th, FPT University’s representatives awarded Nguyen Van Dao Scholarship worth VND 290 million to eleventh-grader Pham Huy at Quang Tri High School. Huy will be supported 100% of tuition and accommodation fees for 4 years at FPT University in Da Nang Campus.

Earlier, Huy was among the Vietnamese students selected by the Ministry of Education and Training to represent the Southeast Asian country at ISEF 2017. He won the third award at the event.

The principle of his invention is simple: it uses the movement of toes, feet, and legs to control fingers, hands and arms. A device uses sensors to send signals via electromagnetic waves to electronic circuits mounted on the robotic arm.

The special feature of the robotic arm is that it utilizes 3D printing technology to create parts with high precision. He would continue improving the product and making it smaller and more usable.

Huy's work previously won the first prize at the Vietnam’s national science contest.

Mr. Huynh Tan Chau, Director of FPT Education in Da Nang said that Huy would have many opportunities to develop his talents and improve his product of robotic arm in the technological environment at FPT University.
