FPT Chairperson Truong Gia Binh: Metaverse Is A New World

On 19 October 2022, VINASA Founding Committee's Chairman and FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh, FPT CTO Vu Anh Tu, and leading experts discussed various attractive topics on Blockchain at the Vietnam Blockchain Summit 2022.

Metaverse and Blockchain will create a whole new world

Within the framework of the Summit, the thought leader Truong Gia Binh - VINASA Founding Committee's Chairman and FPT Chairman - shared some keywords about the blockchain approach in digital transformation. According to Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Metaverse and Blockchain are of equal importance for human existence.

"There is one thing in common: we are human beings with a basic desire to see the world differently. No one wants to look at old things forever. No one wants to be confined to the known or separated by geographical distance. For that very reason, I claim Metaverse is the new world. That's why large technology enterprises are investing in Metaverse. In that world, we have digital assets and identities, so we need Blockchain there also to build the world", he said.

The Chair commented that the world was changing so quickly. Twenty years ago, VINASA was founded from nothing with the expectation of putting the name of our nation on the world's digital map. Today, Vietnam has gained a strong position in the world software industry. In the future, technology experts will continue to pioneer new technologies and create a new world.

Sharing about FPT's technology strategy, he said FPT started embarking on new technologies such as AI, Blockchain, Cloud, and Data... quite early, with experts in the field of Blockchain. The new world has plenty of opportunities and no barriers.

"As a pioneer in software technology over the past 20 years, we will continue to support technology innovation and promote integrating Metaverse into the real world. With its impressive features, Blockchain will facilitate the new universe's development, " Mr.Truong Gia Binh said.

Web 3.0 ensures better security in cyberspace

During the seminar with the theme "The optimization of Blockchain in enterprises," FPT CTO Vu Anh Tu affirmed that Web 3.0 was born to change the world of technology. Web 3.0 is the next-gen internet technology that comes from the natural flow of combination between old-generation Web tools and advanced technologies such as AI and Blockchain.

He gave a simple example: customers no longer need to go to the counter to transfer money like a few years ago, thanks to Web 3.0. In the first days of the Internet, people were excited to download music and simple entertainment apps. The beginning of the Internet era surprised the older generations. However, Web 2.0, with the cyber-security risks, caused users to increase their concerns about the Internet environment. But after Web 3.0 was born, it started ensuring better security in cyberspace for individuals. Furthermore, it allows users to transfer information faster and safer in the digital world.

FPT CTO Vu Anh Tu said that Web 3.0 was born to change the world of technology.

"Currently, we have seen the superior values of Web 3.0 and Metaverse. The world of technology will be integrated into the real world. In particular, Web 3.0 brings differences and better experiences for everyone. With imagination beyond what can be seen, humans can develop a whole new world with lots of opportunities and things we have never known. To explore that world day by day, FPT and other businesses have created solutions associated with banks and financial institutions to build local Letter of Credit (L/C)", Mr. Vu Anh Tu said.

Web 3.0 and Blockchain are applied to the Made-by-FPT ecosystem to develop products, solutions, and platforms with openness, reliability, flexibility, security, and high applicability, bringing sustainable value to customers globally.

At Vietnam Blockchain Summit 2022, FPT introduced specific products such as Edunext - The online training platform with a constructive learning method based on the social constructivist theory, and eTradevn - The payment solution using Letter of Credit (L/C). In particular, eTradevn is the first domestic L/C Blockchain platform developed by FPT IS (a subsidiary of FPT Corporation) in combination with two leading commercial banks in Vietnam. eTradevn helps connect banks and businesses on a unified platform and supports local L/C transaction processing. Moreover, users can share data information in real-time and save storage space with high security. eTradevn is expected to break through the domestic L/C process, opening up opportunities for comprehensive connectivity to Vietnam's digital economy.

Meduverse was developed by FPT Software - another subsidiary of FPT Corporation. The platform integrates a comprehensive learning space from content, faculty, and technology for easy access and exchange. Meduverse, the combined wording of Education and Metaverse, is a new learning technology that stimulates learners to be keen on, deep dive, and be creative.

Vietnam Blockchain Summit 2022 is the largest international event on blockchain technology in Vietnam, jointly organized by VINASA and the Vietnam Blockchain Association under the auspices of the Government Cipher Committee. The event attracted more than 1,000 delegates, many of whom were experts in the field of Blockchain. In particular, participants joined in 20 discussions around various attractive topics about Blockchain technology.
