Bac Kan will collaborate with FPT to build an expressway for digital transformation

FPT Corporation has signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with the People's Committee of Bac Kan province to enhance the province's digital transformation efforts across three pillars: digital government, digital economy, and digital society. The signing ceremony took place on May 30, 2023, in Hanoi. The leaders of Bac Kan province affirmed their commitment to collaborating with FPT in building a high-speed road for digital transformation.
Attending the event from the side of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province were Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee, along with leaders of provincial departments and subordinate agencies.
Representing FPT Corporation were Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - CEO - and leaders of its subsidiaries, departments, and divisions.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province, signed a cooperation agreement with Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation.
According to the cooperation agreement, FPT Corporation would accompany Bac Kan province in supporting and advising on the digital transformation activities' implementation based on the province's needs and in line with FPT's capabilities and strengths.
To build a digital government, FPT would provide consulting services to Bac Kan province in deploying solutions for constructing and improving shared databases, and applying information technology to management and operations to better serve the people and businesses.
In the digital society's development, FPT would support Bac Kan in implementing digital transformation in many sectors like healthcare, education, tourism, industry and trade, agriculture and rural development, and social welfare. In the digital economy, FPT would provide consulting services and digital transformation solutions for businesses in Bac Kan province.
Additionally, FPT would collaborate with Bac Kan province in building infrastructure and utilizing resources such as cloud computing, software, and artificial intelligence. FPT Corporation would coordinate and support the digital transformation training programs' implementation for provincial leaders, officials, businesses, self-employed individuals, and the people of Bac Kan.
On the part of Bac Kan province, they would create conditions for the FPT Education Organization to explore and invest in the development of education and training in digital transformation for the province's workforce.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, delivered a speech at the event.
Within the agenda of the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, affirmed, "Why does FPT desire to collaborate with Bac Kan? Because we see a common aspiration in the province, it is the desire for upward growth. The province has favorable natural conditions and geographical locations to develop high-quality tourism, resorts, and healthcare. Additionally, Bac Kan needs to build a qualified workforce to attract investors and tourists to the area."
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, in the coming time, FPT Corporation intends to invest in a high-quality education system in Bac Kan to provide parents and students with an advanced educational environment, enabling them to become global citizens. The FPT training system will align with the province's development strategy, aiming to promote tourism while not neglecting industry, particularly the digital transformation of healthcare.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province, shared that Bac Kan is a northern mountainous province with a rich historical tradition as part of the former Viet Bac resistance base. The area also possesses abundant natural resources, including the largest freshwater lake in the country, three-fourths of its area covered by forests, and a favorable climate for developing tourism, education, training, and industry. However, Bac Kan still faces many difficulties, especially in the transportation infrastructure's terms, primarily relying on roads.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province, affirmed that they would collaborate with FPT to build an expressway for digital transformation.
"We hope digital transformation will help the local area shorten the distance and unlock its potential. Moreover, this is a place that nurtures talents because the spirit of progress among the province's people is very high, and the ethnic communities have aspirations of the revolutionary countryside and a desire for development. We hope that FPT can develop a high-quality workforce in Bac Kan. In the near future, Bac Kan will build a high-speed highway for digital transformation, using digital technologies and scientific advancements to enable the province to move faster than conventional routes," said Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh.
In 2021, Bac Kan's Digital Transformation Index (DTI) ranking increased by eight places compared to 2020. According to the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) announced in 2022, Bac Kan achieved a score of 65.15, ranking 35th out of 63 provinces and cities, meaning it is a 13-place improvement compared to 2021. With the support of the Government and the provinces' leadership nationwide, up to now, FPT has successfully signed digital transformation cooperation agreements with nearly 30 localities and provided digital transformation awareness training to tens of thousands of leaders at various levels in localities throughout the country.
