Jakarta, August 6, 2023 - The Chairman of the National Assembly, Vuong Dinh Hue, paid a visit to FPT's office in Indonesia. The head of the National Assembly highly appreciated the pioneering role of FPT in the digital transformation as a tech enterprise that contributes to making Vietnam an IT bright spot regionally and internationally.
This activity is within the framework of the official visit of the Chairman of the National Assembly to the Republic of Indonesia from August 4 to 7, 2023. During nearly 70 years of establishing diplomatic relations, the member of the G20 nations list has become a key partner of Vietnam. Indonesia has strong development potential due to its young population and favorable conditions to conquer emerging technologies.
At the meeting, the Chairman suggested that FPT study the ASEAN framework agreement for cooperation in digital transformation, forming a policy framework, actively collaborating, and gradually mastering digital technologies. At the same time, the Chairman of the National Assembly also hoped that FPT would be a typical case for promoting investment connection and the formation of a cooperation network between the two countries' businesses.
Regarding FPT's activities abroad, especially in Indonesia, FPT CEO Nguyen Van Khoa said that this year was a special milestone to celebrate 35 years of FPT's establishment and one billion USD in revenue from the global market. Mr. Khoa emphasized that FPT and Vietnamese software enterprises had great opportunities to provide IT services, especially digital transformation, to foreign markets. He expressed his desire for the Party and Government to continue supporting enterprises to seize the set of circumstances.
With the global expansion strategy, revenue from foreign markets contributes nearly 50% of FPT Corporation's total revenue. Particularly in the first six months of 2023, FPT's revenue from overseas markets reached 11,227 billion VND, up 30.2% over the same period. The total earnings from digital transformation focusing on emerging technologies such as Cloud, AI, Big Data... were 4,886 billion VND, increasing by 40% over the same period. Considered one of the three key markets, APAC also recorded a revenue growth rate of 42.5% in the first six months of 2023, accounting for 26% of FPT's total revenue from overseas markets.
Established in 2017, FPT Indonesia has gradually affirmed its position in the 280-million-people market, becoming the Vietnamese IT enterprise with the largest scale and the strongest growth rate. In efforts to diversify services, FPT Indonesia has brought new products to serve critical areas such as finance, banking, consumption, and healthcare.
From the beginning of 2023, FPT Indonesia also expanded its presence in Indonesia by partaking in specialized technology forums with its leading technology products in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotic process automation (RPA)... Besides, FPT Indonesia also actively joined in conferences and activities connecting the two countries.
Affirming its determination to conquer the largest economy in Southeast Asia, in July 2023, FPT Indonesia has just opened a new office in Jakarta. Toward developing a high-quality workforce, FPT aims to have 10,000 skilled tech engineers working in Indonesia by 2035, meeting the increasing demand for digital transformation.
In order to celebrate its 35 years of establishment in 2023, FPT sets its sights on becoming a happiness-driven organization and achieving one billion USD in revenue in overseas markets. FPT has been promoting its position in three significant areas of the world's digital transformation, including SAP/S4Hana or Dynamics 365 Microsoft system maintenance globally, the Cobol conversion to modern programming languages, and Software Engineering for Automotive Systems.
