Hanoi, February 21, 2024, Mr. Nguyen Minh Vu, an Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Delegation of Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad for the 2024 - 2027 term, paid a visit and conducted discussions at FPT Corporation. Welcoming the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT, leaders of member companies, and leaders of the company's branches and offices abroad.
Addressing the meeting, FPT CEO Nguyen Van Khoa expressed gratitude to Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu and the Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad for the 2024-2027 term for dedicating their time to meet with FPT at the onset of the New Year of Dragon. He noted that this marked the inaugural working session in the 35-year history of FPT with the Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad. In his remarks about FPT's accomplishments in 2023, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa emphasized that since its inception, FPT has aspired to evolve into a formidable and innovative organization in the realm of science and technology. Over the past 35 years, FPT has remained unwaveringly committed to this trajectory. FPT has successfully realized its ambition to showcase Vietnamese intellect globally, evidenced by its attainment of 1 billion USD in revenue from IT services for foreign markets, securing contracts worth hundreds of millions of USD, establishing a presence in 30 countries, and boasting a diverse workforce of over 70 nationalities.
In the field of education, FPT Education has solidified its position with an impressive total of 145,000 enrolled learners across the system. Additionally, in the telecommunications sector, FPT has established a regional-class telecommunications and data infrastructure.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT, delivered a speech during the meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu and Heads of Vietnamese Representative Agencies Abroad.
During the event, Mr. Khoa, along with leaders of member companies and representatives from the company's branches and offices abroad, put forth several proposals aimed at elevating Vietnam's IT industry to greater heights on the global stage. Specifically, FPT representatives suggested the promotion of economic diplomacy in the technology sector to enhance the brand image of Vietnam's IT industry as a premier destination boasting top-notch resources for digital transformation, AI, Big Data, Automotive, and Chip technologies. In the realm of education, FPT representatives expressed their aspiration for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and overseas representative agencies to foster educational collaboration initiatives and facilitate the curriculum transfer of specialized training programs in emerging technology fields such as AI and Semiconductors. Additionally, FPT representatives sought support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and overseas representative agencies in overcoming challenges related to obtaining long-term work visas in specific key markets.

Over two decades ago, FPT harbored the ambition to showcase Vietnamese intellect and technology globally. Starting with a team of 17 individuals, FPT has since evolved into 30,000 programmers, engineers, and technology experts dedicated to providing IT services for foreign markets. Transitioning from a company with limited capital and brand recognition, FPT has earned the reputation of being one of the Top 8 best IoT consultancies in the Asia Pacific region.
The Corporation has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 1 billion USD in revenue from IT services for foreign markets, marking its entrance into the prestigious echelons of billion-dollar IT service businesses worldwide. FPT has also made substantial strides in advancing to higher stages in the technology value chain, with nearly 50% of its total revenue from IT services for foreign markets derived from digital transformation services. Within this segment, 40% was attributed to Cloud technology, while other technologies such as AI and data analysis accounted for 12%, and RPA & Lowcode contributed 10%.
In terms of partnerships, FPT boasts nearly 100 customers among the Top 500 largest companies globally. In 2023, within just one year, FPT executed four M&A deals and made strategic investments in renowned technology companies in the US and France, including Intertec International, Cardinal Peak, AOSIS, and Landing AI.
After 35 years of resource preparation, FPT has embarked on a journey to excel globally. Previously, FPT consistently sought out partners and customers, but now, it attracts many large clients and partners. Vietnam is ranked second in the global list of countries for IT services and is recognized internationally as a hub for business investment and digital innovation.
In its future trajectory, FPT sets its sights on achieving the next milestone of 5 billion USD in revenue from IT services for foreign markets, further establishing Vietnam as a global burgeoning technology hub. Particularly, FPT views Semiconductors and AI as pivotal directions moving forward, recognizing them as critical factors for Vietnam to bridge the gap with advanced nations worldwide.
